Why Disney Adults Are Suddenly Swarming a Walk-On Attraction in Hollywood Studios

Well, it’s the end of an era, and we’re kinda sad about it.

We knew this day was coming, but now that it’s here, it’s even sadder. So today is the day is the last day of Muppet*Vision 3D because the entirety of Muppets Courtyard will be closing tomorrow (June 8th) so that a new Monsters, Inc. land can be constructed in its space. So we’re in Disney’s Hollywood Studios LIVE, paying our respects to this classic attraction, saying goodbye, and seeing how everyone else is doing the same.

When we arrived in Disney’s Hollywood Studios this afternoon, we could see the longest line we’ve EVER seen for Muppet*Vision 3D. A LOT of folks are in Hollywood Studios today to say goodbye, and they’re waiting in a pretty long line to do it. In fact, Disney Cast Members distributed special wristbands for fans hoping to catch the final show this evening. Those wristbands were gone QUICKLY!

It’s a little busy, huh?

PhotoPass photographers are also on hand to take photos of fans in front of the Miss Piggy fountain and in front of the theater. Believe it or not, THESE photo ops are the longest lines in the area.

There’s an even longer line for photos!

Things are so crowded in the area that a backstage overflow area has been opened to park strollers.

We also saw folks paying tribute to the ride by wearing some fun Muppets-inspired outfits and accessories. Melanie rolled in sporting a massive Gonzo head (oh, we hope that’s a bag) and a Rizzo plush (and it’s Rizzo dressed like Mickey from the pre-show!). Also, that Disney MGM Studios shirt is🔥🔥🔥.

WE LOVE IT.

Another Muppets fan, @ms.swizzlesticks, was sporting the most EPIC of Muppets dresses. Yes, that’s a Muppets Treasure Island dress. But also check out that Animal belt. ICONIC.

Over at PizzeRizzo, Mobile Order was no longer available by the afternoon (which probably means it’s full for the day), and there’s a 40-minute wait to order food. Okay, now that IS something we never expected to see.

Now we’ve seen everything.

So now we say goodbye to Muppets Courtyard forever, but never fear, because the Muppets will be returning to Hollywood Studios in 2026 as they take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. ALL IS NOT LOST, FRIENDS. The Muppets will return.
