We are living in our best Disney villains era, thanks to all the new focus on villains in Disney Parks.
Usually, we only ever get to see the villains during Halloween season and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. But a whole NEW Disney Villains land is coming to Magic Kingdom. Disney Villains are also the stars of a new show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After. So speaking of that show, if you ever wanted to live your best villainous life, Disney World is holding auditions now!
Disney has posted auditions for its three main villains for the show: Cruella, Maleficent, and Captain Hook. The audition notice includes monologues that you’ll need for submitting your audition. You’ll also need to get your audition in by June 6th at 11:30 PM.
Here are the descriptions for each character:
“Cruella de Vil– Female Identifying Performer. 5’7-5’9. Cruella de Vil, as portrayed in the animated classic, is an eccentric socialite who loves showing off her fashion sense. She longs to surround herself with the finer things in life and will stop at nothing to get her way. This dramatic and devious Villain is as vain as she is persistent.”
“Captain Hook– Male Identifying Performer. 5’11 to 6’3. Captain Hook, as portrayed in the animated classic, is determined to get revenge on the boy who robbed him of his hand. As the most infamous pirate of Neverland, Hook holds himself with an air of dignity and pride. This dignified and devious villain is equal parts vengeful and cowardly. Vocalist and Musical Theatre Movement Skills Required.”
“Maleficent– Female Identifying Performer. 5’10 to 6’1. As portrayed in the animated classic, Maleficent (muh-LEFF-uh-sint), mistress of evil, prides herself on being the epitome of villainy. With her powerful magic and vengeful demeanor, Maleficent will do anything to ensure her will is carried out.”
For more information, you can visit the Disney Auditions website to check out all the details. It looks like Disney has BIG plans for this show (and this indicates that it will be sticking around), and we’re excited to watch it again and again, especially as we, the audience, get to pick which villain has been treated the most unfairly during every show!
