Sometimes, surprises hit you in Magic Kingdom when you least expect it.
Just recently, we’ve seen a TV star handing out free balloons in the park, and testing is happening NOW for Big Thunder Mountain about five months into its (at least) year-long refurbishment. But the surprises aren’t over yet. You’ll never guess who we found roaming around Main Street, U.S.A. the other day, meeting guests!
Recently, right around 4:15 PM, we spotted Mary Poppins, Bert, and a Penguin meeting guests in a surprise pop-up meet-and-greet on Main Street, U.S.A.!
Four Cast Member character attendants were with them, and when we chatted with them, we were told that this was a surprise experience, but that it could happen again around the same time on future days.
We’ve started seeing a few more surprise meet-and-greets like this pop up in different areas of Magic Kingdom. They don’t show up on the My Disney Experience App like regular, planned meet-and-greets do, so you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled.

Oh Golly, I remember 1964, my mom gave me 25 cents and popped me a huge brown bag of popcorn to go see Mary Poppins at our local theater, I was 11 years old in El Paso, Texas. This movie stands the test of time as I still love to watch it at home with a big bag of popcorn.
