If there’s one thing Disney fans aren’t shy about, it’s sharing how they really feel about the state of the parks —and right now, it’s not all pixie dust and churros.
Between construction walls popping up like mushrooms after a Florida rainstorm and fan-favorite attractions going down left and right, things are feeling a little chaotic in Disney World. With all that in mind, we wanted to find out from you what your feelings were about all the major projects and construction walls, and y’all definitely had some thoughts.
We reached out to our followers on X to ask: “Disney World has a TON of major projects happening right now—do you mind the construction walls, or are you excited for all the exciting changes coming?” We had quite a few people leave their opinions in the comments!
Now, let’s dive into some of your top responses!
“Disney is destroying everything that made us love those parks.”
First up, we’ve got @RBG_Retro and they did not hold back:
- “With everything going on at Disney and the opening of Epic Universe, my wife and I are discussing not renewing our Disney APs. Disney is destroying everything that made us love those parks, so why bother going anymore? Super Nintendo, Darkmoor, and Wizarding World are unbeatable.”
When longtime Annual Passholders are considering jumping ship for Universal, you know the discontent is real. It’s not just about the rides — it’s about how fans feel like the magic is slipping away while competitors are leveling up hard.
“For every Cosmic Rewind, there’s 5 Trons.”
Next, @Stigg00 summed up the situation with this:
- “You always have to be excited for new things, BUT…. For every Cosmic Rewind, there’s 5 Trons.”
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind was a win, but let’s be honest — TRON had a decade of hype and delivered a ride that’s over in the blink of an eye. A lot of you are starting to feel like the ratio of payoff to wait just isn’t working anymore.
“No need to get excited for a Villains Land that is at least 5 years away.”
Next, @MHacifazli18627 hit the nail on the head:
- “Kinda. For the ones that are in short term. No need to get excited for a Villains Land that is at least 5 years away.”
It can be hard to stay hyped for a concept art tease when all you’re getting in the short term is more walls, more closures, and more “stay tuned.” Disney, we love a long-term vision — but some of us are just trying to book a trip next spring, and it’s not looking great.
“I’m not going back until Cars is done!”
Over at @CartersUnlimit, the focus was clear:
- “I’m not going back until Cars 🚗 is done !”
Fair. We’d love to see Cars in Florida, too — but again, even if something like that is on the table, it’s years out.
“Too many walls all at once.”
Next up, @MarchinGoofy shared what a lot of you are probably thinking:
- “Too many walls all at once, but I’ll hold off on heavy park visits until then.”
Construction fatigue is real. Whether you’re at Magic Kingdom or EPCOT, it can feel like you’ve been walking through a maze of plywood and scrims. The promise of future fun doesn’t always make up for current-day headaches.
“Hate the walls”
@SOARIN61 kept it short and sweet:
- “Hate the walls can’t wait for the construction to be over”
The walls aren’t just annoying — they’re a visual reminder that Disney’s in transition. And not everyone’s loving the growing pains.
“Don’t mind, can’t wait for some new stuff”
Not everyone is down in the dumps, though. @ArentRobert gave us a breath of optimism:
- “Don’t mind, can’t wait for some new stuff”
That’s the spirit. New stuff is coming. But the question is: will it be worth the wait? We sure do hope so!
Those were just some of your thoughts on all the major projects and construction walls at Disney World, and now we want to hear even more from you! Until then, keep it right here for all the latest Disney news! Also, follow us on X to join in on the next discussion.

Wait until they reopen thunder mt. And it’s a one minute coaster like tron, mine dwarfs ride. So they can move more people and give less entertainment
Too expensive 4 year old 153$ 1 park 1 day .5 adults 825$ 35 to park .not ever coming back
Everything there is played out the Grand Prix raceway is horrible I almost left the car right where it was and walked off the track everything is old and boring
Well I was there 5 years ago….. walls at epcot. Going back later this year… looks like walls again at MK. For once I’d like to realy get my money’s worth for the whole experience
This article is so right. Less rides, more crowds, higher prices and extra cost everywhere at Disney. I had non expiring tickets for the family from years ago with Disney that they changes to plastic tickets and are now saying they were non expiring and all of my unused tickets for a family of 5 are gone! Also toll me there could be unassigned tickets, they would have to have done assign them unassigned, that with out the old ticket number they could not find and attack to our family. We actually had photocopied some ticket and Disney located them and. Assigned them back to us. This is so wrong. We need Walt Disney back!!!
All of this boom of new seems like a desperate move on Disney’s part. Phasing out so very many of the original rides. The foundation of it all. There’s still an older population that comes to Disney to reminisce and be a kid again.
We love Cars, but it belongs in Hollywood Studios with the other Pixar IP, not in Magic Kingdom. What about a Pirates re-theme forTom Sawyer Island? Or go the other way – expand the Haunted Mansion area. Haunted riverboat with our beloved Mansion residents, perhaps? Disney seems to be plopping things around the parks in a money grab fashion – where is the creativity and love from the Imagineers? Let them be given the chance to use their Pixie Dust! It’s a shame our comments aren’t seen by them.
Come on, guys. Let’s try to be less negative, and more positive. Don’t let construction put you off. I never have and I never will. All the new stuff that’s coming to the parks over the next decade or so, I just know it’s going to be fun, and I just know it’s going to pay off. Because, unlike some, I’m an optimist. A modern day Walt Disney you might say
Satisfying the public has become impossible.
Some don’t want anything touched and complain about things being changed, despite that many of the things being changed are rarely visited by guests and require a ton of maintenance (Tom Sawyer Island) while others were cheaply done to start with and were underwhelming (DinoLand). Others think that more improvements are needed, yet complain about the construction. I’m not sure how change occurs and new attractions are created without construction.
Annual passholder here. I’m certainly not jumping to Universal. I don’t mind all the changes at Disney World. If I remember right, Walt Disney wanted the parks to change. If it didn’t change, many would be bored seeing the same rides.
Disney waited too long to make upgrades, especially while Epic Universe was being built. Now playing catch-up? Seems like poor planning and bad management. BTW I am tired of how they retheme rides instead of building new ones, especially with the high park prices.
As a genuinely handicapped person I will not go back to the parks. The costs are out of reach for me and many other people who are on fixed incomes. Thanks for nothing you greedy money grubbing people. I’ll pray for you.
It’s not the construction walls, but rather Disney replacing everything with crap. In the past, they could build a whole park in 3 years. Now 5 years for one ride? Really? Noticeable upkeep issues over the past 5 years. Disney is suppose to be an experience which it is not anymore.
Well, my family and nearly everyone we know are #DonewithDisney. We kept waiting, for a VERY long time for them to right the ship, right their wrongs, mistakes, failures but instead, they’re continue to dig themselves in deeper n deeper n deeper. Almost thus entire group was made of Disney exclusives, ones who ONLY vaca at Diz. But no more!!! We’re all looking at Universal, Sea World and beyond. I could give you a huge long list of reasons but I won’t bc none of them are need to any Diz follower. Buh buh Diz, it WAS nice while it lasted but you most definitely killed it off. You’ve ruined it well beyond any n all possible chances of return or repair. Hope you’re happy, bc we’re not!!!!!
Similar problem with Hollywood, our experience was waking up at the Grand Floridian to the resort’s hot water being off. Headed to the park and headed to Rise of the Resistance and discovered it was shut down temporarily with no ETA. Went to Smuggler’s Run and got on in about 40 mins, not too bad, and found out that Rise was open again. Headed there and hopped on (fairly quick, maybe 30 min wait) got to the end of the ride and had to be evacuated. (Got a lightning lane pass for trouble) continued around the park while waiting to re-open and saw that Slinky Dog rollercoaster was shut down and the Mania ride was at 90 min wait. Moved on to Runaway Railway and it shut down while we were in the Queue. We waited and got on, took about 30-40 mins. Headed to one of our all time favorites, Rock’n Roller Coaster to ride it once or twice more before it shuts down permanently. We waited about 50 mins and made it to the coaster, sat down and secured our lap bars, sat for about 2 mins and then they pulled us out for a temporary shut down, another lightning lane pass usable on most of the rides. Headed to Hollywood Tower hotel and after getting on we were pulled off and moved to the other car (thankfully still got to ride) and then headed back to Rise of the Resistance since it was open and had been for a little bit. As we got to the front of the line (using the Lightning Lane we had gotten earlier) we were assigned in groups and waited outside the boarding chambers, when we were evacuated again. After this we cut our losses and went to use our lightning lanes on Toy Story Mania and Slinky Dog rollercoaster.. all this being said… it was a pretty rough day and unfortunately the worst experience we’ve had over the years of visiting.
year and years of Epcots walls….now MK walls…..took away beloved Tom Sawyer and RIverboat so more walls….truly sick of walls evertime we go…..yes i am also reconsidering to go to Universal this christmas …. The people who say The Magic is Gone is correct….this isnt the Disney we went to 40…30….20 …15 years ago….Sad.
We added 2 Magic Kingdom days to our DCL trip after that I doubt we will visit WDW for a couple of years. With rides being closed and a BUNCH of new things in the ‘future’, maybe we will add an Epcot/Animal Kingdom days before a future DCL trip. Universal will get a portion of our travel for the next couple of years.
I cant understand the destroying of any of the previous rides , Walt Disney himself said that they purchased enough property in Florida to always be able to expand . I realize it’s not a museum but it might be too late for the Disney developer’s realize that memories are to be shared with your love ones, parents, grand parents, great grand parent
Like others here. AP holders and are not renewing this fall. Switching to Universal for a few years. Disney has a lot of maintenance to do and things to build out before we go back. Plus they need to get back to simple perks that don’t make you look at your phone all day. Just give us extended hours every night for staying on property no matter which hotel. Like it used to be. Additionally get rid of all lightning lanes except individual rides. Give them all the option like in France. So few people would be willing to pay for whey ride that lines would go back to normal.
I don’t like all the new stuff. Not into it ! And then we are charged more for it. And the lines are ridiculous 🙄. Even the ones for fast pass are super long. Hate all the construction which is an eye sore . New doesn’t mean better.
My husband and I have visited the parks over several years starting in 1982, way before Epcot, animal kingdom, we have visited at least 12 times sometimes twice a year , we understand change is a good thing most of the time , the Disney we grew up on and why we started with our kids and grandkids so young was to share our experiences with them , we passed our love for Disney to them, but now the things that we all shared as a family is all but gone , soon to be forgotten, not much will be left of our Disney , but the original Mickey and Characters and Cinderella castle , there is nothing to entice the grown ups to bring their kids because there will not be any grown ups rides at least Universal is geared to all ages a bunch of common ground , young , teens and older adults can do as a whole family , what grown ups really wants to ride muppet babies , yes it will still be a wonderful coaster but I think doing a different them geared at all ages , like you did with guardians, it’s all mostly for the kids , and that’s great but there needs to be some incentive for teens and adults alike ( Pandora, ) would be a great theme for a remake on a coaster something more exciting any way not sure about Disney anymore Epic is so much better,
I think they should leave the classics alone. Disney has soooo much property. I am all for growth but maybe instead of getting rid of the classics they too should have built a new park and left the older stuff there or moved it it to Disney retro or something. Trust me people that grew up going on the older rides would pay. I didn’t like when They upgraded Pirates of the Caribbean. LoL change is great and I love the new rides but there’s a place for everything
Walt said that Disneyland would never be finished so I guess he meant the same with the parks being built for his Florida project. Never finished will means walls up somewhere. Doesn’t bother me.
We just visited MK, Epcot, Hollywood & Animal Kingdom. We had an absolute blast.
No major complaints from us. If people think these parks are expensive then they should visit SixFlags. The meals & snacks are twice as much. I was very impressed with the Disney prices. We had lightening lane passes so the lines weren’t bad either. When our ride was closed, we waited. When it was running again, we went back and they honored our original time. This was our second trip and it was as wonderful as our first. I came home recommending the Disney parks to all my friends. Everyone needs at least one magical moment at the Disney Parks. Our next trip will be to Universal because my boys will be teens but they still say they’d like to go back again for their favorite rides .
To all of you haters, please, stay home. WDW will be here long after you are gone, and maybe the lines will be a tad shorter for us who still love the magic. Walt said that the parks will never be finished….
DVC member and not reviewing AP.
With 1000s of acres, why do existing rides have to be torn down to build new rides? Ridiculous.
With so much closed, we won’t be back for years.
And Disney’s attitude is they have an endless supply of waiting customers and they provide extreme value for the cost. Those of us who have been going for years have seen the tremendous erosion of value.
I think Walt would be sorely disappointed.
I’m an AP who lives in Maryland. I never mind the changes, it’s still my happy place. However the re-themed splash mountain is a failure. There is no fun story like before, so disappointing. I’m going alone this year, next year my friends and family prefer to go to Universal’s parks.
