Disney recently dropped a lot of news, including dates for the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival and tickets and dates for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, but we don’t think Disney meant to give us a huge clue as to when a new restaurant is opening in Disney World.
We’ve been waiting patiently (okay, maybe not so patiently) for the new pirates-themed lounge, The Beak and Barrel, to have an opening date, and Disney dropped (and then removed) a HUGE clue.
On May 12th, we spotted a pretty interesting update on the Disney World website. It said that starting June 16th, 2025, guests will be able to book a reservation at The Beak and Barrel — the new Pirates of the Caribbean Tavern coming to Magic Kingdom — during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Up until now, the only timeline we had for this new spot was “late 2025.”
But, Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs on select nights from August 15th to October 31st, which makes us think the lounge might be open by August 15th — or at least sometime before October 31st!
Of course, shortly after publishing this news, Disney updated its website to no longer include the language about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, so while it’s still possible this will be the case — nothing has been officially announced or confirmed.
According to the original message, though, guests staying at Disney World hotels might be able to book The Beak and Barrel starting June 12th, while everyone else will likely have to wait until June 16th. While booking a table reservation during your Halloween party can be time-consuming, this will be perfect for those dressing up as pirates and who want a more relaxing experience.
We’re expecting that Disney will officially announce when the tavern will open, but right now, we’re predicting it will be open by August 15th. Yo-ho!
As the story goes… a legendary pirate rumrunner called Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn established this “lively pirate pub,” now known as The Beak and Barrel! Rummy, her first mate, will be the tavern’s quartermaster and keeps an eye on the lounge from a roost at the top.
This family-friendly lounge will feature “tasty options for pirates of all ages — as well as refreshing cocktails for Guests ages 21 and up.” We also know that there will be a 45-minute time limit for your time inside The Beak and Barrel. The lounge will also offer Advanced Dining Reservations. Stay tuned for specific menu information to come!
We’ll be ready for any announcements, so make sure you’re following Disney Food Blog for the latest updates and details. We’re ready to bring the pirate life to you!
