We’ve seen some pretty wild pieces of Disney merchandise over the years.
Sometimes, Disney releases strange designs that leave us wondering how they got approved, and other times, it’s merchandise that costs so much that our jaws completely drop. In this case, it’s the latter — Disney just released a $2,000+ DROID online, and we have no idea what to think.
Nope, we’re not kidding. Disney just released the G1T4-M1N1 Droid online, and it costs $2,875 (yes, we nearly choked on our drink when we saw that number).
But what the HECK is so special about this droid that makes it worth nearly $3K? Well, its value will ultimately be up to you, but this droid essentially brings to life everything you love from the droids in Star Wars. It’s equipped with sensors and a camera that allows it to follow its owner around with ease, has a cargo bin that can hold up to 20 lbs, and is ready to follow you around on your adventures.
You heard that right — you can take your droid on a picnic, no picnic basket or backpack needed! Its battery lasts seven hours and has a built-in Bluetooth speaker…but that’s about it. It has software that will allow for future updates, but as of right now, it basically can just follow you around like a glorified suitcase and Bluetooth speaker. But hey — if you’re a Star Wars fan…owning your own personal droid is a pretty sweet accomplishment.
We know the tech inside of it is what’s worth that cost (to some), but we think we’ll stick with building our own droids when we’re looking to splurge in Galaxy’s Edge. But if you’ve always dreamed of having your own droid friend follow you around, now is your chance!
We’re always here to bring you the latest Disney merchandise updates, so stay tuned to DFB!
