Now is a great time to plan a trip to Disneyland Resort because SO much is going on — and even more is coming soon.
Disneyland’s 70th Anniversary Celebration kicks off on May 16th and will bring new ride additions, brand-new attractions, the return of fan-favorite parades, and, of course, new eats and treats! But, even before the festivities kick off, we’re checking out some recently released snacks around Disneyland
New and limited-time eats just debuted around Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure, so you know we had to check them out!
Edelweiss Snacks
We stopped by this snack spot for the Matterhorn Puff, which is filled with cheesecake, lemon curd, and fresh blueberries, topped with white chocolate and snow sugar.
This treat is absolutely delicious! There were SO many flavors going on, but in the best way. The cheesecake and lemon curd are a refreshing flavor together. It is served cold, so when you take that first bite, it has a cold bite to it, which makes it so refreshing!
There aren’t as many blueberries as we had hoped, but it doesn’t take away from how good this is. The white chocolate on the puff pastry adds a rich sweetness to the tart filling.
Tropical Hideaway
The Matcha Float is a DOLE WHIP made with strawberry and mango swirl, topped with white chocolate drizzle, and toasted coconut.
Matcha can be a divisive flavor, which is why we’re not sure about this one! The flavors are good individually, just weird when they’re all stirred up together. We liked the aftertaste more than the actual taste when we were sipping on it. We really wanted to like it, but it’s just not our favorite DOLE WHIP flavor.
Mint Julep Bar
Over at the Mint Julep Bar, we picked up the Pineapple Mickey Beignets for $6.49 — which basically sound like DOLE WHIP beignets to us. These are pineapple beignets with pineapple powdered sugar, and we just have to say WOW.
We were honestly surprised by how good these truly were! Fair warning, they are VERY tart. We were hoping they would have a pineapple-type filling, but looks-wise, they are your standard Mickey beignets. They’re nice and fluffy and are served warm. The flavor all comes from the pineapple powdered sugar.
There is so much flavor in the sugar that it tastes like a tart pineapple candy. It doesn’t taste fake or anything, but that first bite may give you a pucker!
Cozy Cone Motel 1
We were intrigued by the Banana Cone-Nanza Churros here. These are classic churros topped with banana cream and chocolate dust. Unfortunately, we did NOT love these.
The banana cream is like a whipped cream consistency, and honestly, it had a fake aftertaste that wasn’t very banana and was more chemical. The churro itself is pure perfection, but the whipped cream is a no-go for us. It would have been better if it were like a custard on top, or even in a dipping cup.
Aunt Cass Cafe
We stopped for the Strawberries & Cream Cold Brew at Aunt Cass Cafe for $7.29. This is a vanilla cream cold brew topped with strawberry cold foam.
This was really good and a fun combination! Super sweet and has more of a chocolate-covered strawberry taste to it. It’s also on the thicker side in terms of consistency — we would almost say it’s like a melted milkshake.
The strawberry foam on top is tart and offers a great addition to the vanilla cold brew. We liked the flavors together, but the coffee alone was too sweet, and the strawberry foam was too tart, if that makes sense. If you like trying interesting cold brews, then definitely try this one; however, it’s more on the sweet dessert side and not heavy on the coffee flavor.

Another dish we tried at Aunt Cass was the Peaches and Cream Bread Pudding for $7.99. This is made with a peach pie topping, whipped topping, crème anglaise, and streusel.
PHOTO
We typically love desserts at Aunt Cass, but we aren’t too sure about this one. While we loved the super moist bread pudding that wasn’t overly soggy, the peach flavor was on the subtle side, with cinnamon being the prominent taste. The peach pie topping had a pinch too much salt in it, and our mountain of whipped cream made our bread pudding a bit soggy in the end.

Tiana’s Palace
More coffee? Yes, please! The Beignet-flavored Cold Brew is $6.29. You can get this with or without a cream topper, which we opted to get.
We were excited about this, and while it was good, we didn’t get beignet flavors at all. The taste was very familiar and sweet, and closer to Oreo or cookies and cream, if anything. The cream topper was tasty and sweet, and this will make most coffee drinkers happy, but there’s nothing distinctly beignet flavored here.
Red Rose Taverne
Next up is the S’mores Butter Cake Sundae, which you can grab for $8.49. This is a chocolate butter cake topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, graham cracker crumbs, and toasted marshmallow.
There’s not a single thing we don’t like about this, and you definitely get a s’mores flavor. Lots of chocolate is happening here, and it does overpower the dish at times. The marshmallows are actually toasted, so it’s safe to say you won’t be disappointed in that flavor — it really adds that nice smokiness. Not enough Graham cracker taste, though!
Shawarma Palace
We had to try the Denver Breakfast Shawarma, which costs $14.49. It is made with scrambled eggs, potatoes, ham, cheddar cheese, and bell peppers, and served with spicy ketchup.
Breakfast is no easy feat in a theme park, so we love it when we find a filling meal with lots of flavor. It reminded us of a breakfast burrito but with a soft, fluffy pita bread. There was a ton of filling with everything being nicely seasoned, and when we dunked it into the spicy ketchup, it added a bit of kick and tartness.
Award Wieners
Over at Award Wieners, we tried the Street Corn Dog for $11.79 which is an all-beef hot dog with esquites-inspired topping and served with either Mangarin oranges or filmstrip fries.
The corn was grilled and provided an amazing crunch on the hot dog, and with the mayo drizzle that had a bit of tartness with it, we wanted to just eat a bowl of elote! The hot dog is a traditional hot dog with a great snap to it, and the bun reminded us of a Texas toast style bun. While this might not be our favorite hot dog we’ve had from Award Wieners, we loved the corn!
Studio Catering Co.
When we saw the Western-style Loaded Potato for $8.49, we knew we had to try it. This is a creamy baked potato with garlic butter, charro-style beans, shredded cheese, sour cream, green onion, and sliced jalapenos.
The menu said loaded, and trust us, this was LOADED. There were so many toppings of different flavors mixing together. The beans were on the soupy side with chunks of meat and had a great smoky and spicy flavor. The sour cream helps cut through the spice, but the beans were very oily which made our potato soggy in the end. We loved the idea of the dish, but there were a lot of different flavors altogether that we’re not sure worked well together.
Clarabelle’s Hand-Scooped Ice Cream
Over at Clarabelle’s, we were ready for another sweet treat so we ordered the Neapolitan Macaron which is a chocolate macaron with vanilla buttercream and strawberry sauce for $8.29.
If there’s one thing Disneyland knows how to do, it’s macarons! The buttercream is not overly sweet, which pairs nicely with the super street strawberry sauce. The macaron is very rich in flavors, and the chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry were amazing together. We would get this again and again!
Maurice’s Treats
We tried the Cookie Croissant for $5.29, which is a flat croissant coated in sugar.
While this croissant is super pretty, it really lacked in texture. While it was flaky, it was also super hard and difficult to bite through. The caramel and butter tasted burnt and created a bitter-sweet taste, which we weren’t in love with. Next time, we’ll try dipping it in hot chocolate or coffee.
Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe
At Jolly Holiday, we tried the Coconut Cheesecake for $7.29 which is rolled in toasted coconut with coconut whipped cream, white chocolate pearls, and a Mickey decoration.
The coconut lovers are going to be obsessed with this! The cheesecake is light and airy, and the coconut whipped cream adds great flavor and taste. We even loved the toasted coconut on the side for texture and a subtle toasted flavor. The crust is soft and moist and not overly sweet. We can’t wait to order this again!
Various Outdoor Vending
You’ll find the Pull-apart Pizza Bread at various outdoor vending locations throughout Disney California Adventure, which you can pick up for $10.75. It’s filled with seasoned ricotta and topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella, and pepperoni slices.
This thing may look small, but it’s PACKED with carbs, making it deceptively filling. The mozzarella is baked into the bread, which helps maintain a lighter, gooier texture. This was very, very tasty and soft.
It’s served very hot, making it great for when you’re on the go. The Hawaiian rolls are also really reliably tasty. It’s closer to cheese bread than actual pizza, but the pepperoni makes it the perfect cheese bread-pizza combo. It’s also perfectly shareable!
We’ll be on the lookout for even more snacks to review around Disneyland and beyond! In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest Disney news.
