If you’re staying at a resort at Walt Disney World, Disney just announced an extra treat you’ll be getting!

Disney World hotel guests are going to LOVE this! It’s finally official, during Early Entry you’ll be able to meet some of your favorite Disney characters EARLIER than you ever have!
If you aren’t aware of how Disney’s Early Entry works, you get to enter each Disney World park 30 minutes before opening. At the Magic Kingdom, only Tomorrowland and Fantasyland open their attractions early (whereas all the other lands are closed till the parks opening). The other exception is that TRON Lightcycle / Run still remains closed, however changes were made that now allow you to lineup, even if doesn’t open for another half hour!

Now there’s another change coming to Early Entry (all these Early Entry changes)! Disney just announced that this summer, a few beloved characters will begin their meet and greets inside the parks DURING the 30 minute Early Entry period. No more waiting till the opening time! That means shorter wait times and getting more in during your Disney day!

We know that characters during Early Entry are confirmed, however we aren’t totally sure on which characters will be coming out to meet guests. Disney also announced that character appearances should begin around May 27th! This is a great change to the Early Entry! It gives guests even more incentive to either stay at a select Disney resort, or get up early and make the most of their day. Sometimes the waits to meet characters are brutal, so now you can check that off the to-do list early on. And honestly, what better way to start your Disney day than hanging with a Disney character?!

That’s such a great perk for early entry! Almost makes me want to rope drop! Almost. Those early entry moments can also be perfect for getting photos with Photopass photographers. Everyone is still fresh and happy, and the photographers are often not being noticed with everyone’s urgency to run to the rides (or at least the lines for the rides).
It is a nice thing to see more characters in the parks, but wish they would be around the entire day like they once were. Why this now has to be a “special perk” when we are paying so much more now than ever is a bit difficult to understand.
Nope. Not excited enough to make we want to pay high prices to stay on property as we did when there were real perks. I’m glad they are bringing perks back, but it is hard to beat Magical Express, merch purchase deliveries to your resort, free Magic Bands, extra HOURS in the park, etc. For now, we will continue to stay off site and save over $150 per night. TBH, I keep hoping they will entice me back to the bubble with some valuable (to me) perks.
Assuming the characters will be after the points where they scan your magic band? Right?
If they were on Main Street, then anyone off premise could get in line. : D
It’s great to have more perks but with precious early entry time, i don’t see many using their precious ride or attraction time with characters.
Does this extend to DVC members…?
If Disney want to give another Perk DROP the price’s for like Park ticket’s , food , Resort stay. That would a REAL Perk for all the people that spend alot hard earn $$$$$.
