It’s no secret that Disney has announced new lands, attractions, and entertainment headed to the theme parks, new ships coming to the Disney Cruise Line, plus SO much more. But, what about those projects that Disney hasn’t exactly announced yet?
Keeping up with the latest construction permits Disney World files can be a great way to find out just what is going on around the parks and hotels, and we recently spotted some you might want to know about!
We’re always on the hunt for the latest construction permits filed by Disney to get an idea of what sort of changes might be coming to the parks, and here’s what we found this time around!
A NEW LAND themed to the Tropical Americas is coming to Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom park in 2027 — but it means we have to say goodbye to DinoLand U.S.A. We’ve been keeping up with the demolition progress in this area of the park, and a new permit was recently filed for work at a mobile snack cart in this land.
The work is to “provide labor, material, and/or electrical for construction,” which could mean any number of things. But, it just goes to show that this transformation is picking up steam.
“The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” (a reimagined version of the “Voyage of the Little Mermaid” show) officially opens at Hollywood Studios on May 27th, 2025, and we can’t wait! Disney has been hard at work on this show — and on the show’s theater, which just recently had a new permit pulled on it.
The permit is for “general construction” and the contractor is Coastal Steel Inc., which has worked with Disney on various projects in the past.
And, over at the Land Pavilion in EPCOT, some electrical work is scheduled to be completed soon based on a new permit we found. Unfortunately, we can’t tell what exactly the electrical work is for — or where in this massive pavilion it will actually be taking place.
As of now, it doesn’t seem as though this project will have an impact on your upcoming Disney World visit, but we’ll let you know if that changes!
In the meantime, we’ll be on the hunt for new updates from Disney World and more — so stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest news!
