Pack your suitcase with your most festive sweaters and Mickey ears because it’s time to book your flights to Disney World for the holidays. Well, maybe switch that sweater for a t-shirt since it is Florida after all, but if you want to leave the snow for a bit, Southwest is ready for you!
If you’ve always wanted to spend your Thanksgiving and Christmas in Florida, now might be the time to plan that trip and book those tickets.
Southwest Airlines has opened its booking calendar through January 5th, 2026, featuring new flights!
Disney World has amazing holiday offerings from the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays to special ticketed events like Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and Jollywood Nights.
There are limited-time treats available and all the gingerbread you could ever want, including massive gingerbread structures at the resorts.
All four Disney Parks are decorated with Christmas trees and garlands, and the magic of Disney truly comes alive during the winter months (even if it’s not that cold in Florida, it’s still our version of Winter!).
Disney Springs has a Christmas Tree Stroll, during which you can admire the decorations and pick up Christmas gifts for the family.
There are even special holiday overlays on some rides, like the Jungle Cruise, which turns into the Jingle Cruise with new jokes and Christmas features around the attractions.
Living with the Land gets thousands of lights and turns into the Glimmering Greenhouse!
One of the best parts of the holidays at Disney World is the Merry Menagerie at Animal Kingdom. Animal puppets in their best winter outfits walk around Discovery Island and meet and greet guests with live music.
We could go on and on about how amazing the holiday season is at Disney World, and if you’ve never experienced the magic, this could be a great year to celebrate. Most holiday offerings start the day after Thanksgiving and end around the first of January, but keep in mind that these exact dates change yearly.
The Southwest booking calendar is now up, so book your trip now! Stay up to date with Disney Food Blog for every part of your next Disney trip.
