Disney has had some big releases lately, with the live-action Snow White in theaters and Moana 2 streaming online! Disney+ is now back with a major renewal, so grab your wands and let’s dive in!

Calling all Wizards fans! Wizards Beyond Waverly Place has been renewed for season 2 on Disney+, and we are thrilled! The series, which is a reboot of the hugely popular Wizards of Waverly Place, first premiered in October 2024 bringing back several of the original actors including David Henrie as Justin Russo and Selena Gomez as Alex Russo.

According to Variety, production for season 2 will begin in May 2025! David Henrie, who is also an executive producer in addition to being the lead, shared, “So many surprises in store for this second season. It’s going to be big, so stay tuned!” To announce the news, Disney posted a video on X with a nod to the original show and the cast of the reboot showing their excitement for season 2.

The show follows Justin Russo, who has chosen an adult, normal life with his wife and 3 children, until Alex, his Wizard sister, brings by young Wizard Billie seeking Justin’s help. According to Disney, the premiere of season 1 was Disney Channel’s most-watched series premiere ever, with 3.2 million views in 12 days. Selena Gomez, who was the star of the original series, returned for 2 episodes in season one to the delight of fans.
