Disney World and Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe might just want to take a step back for a moment.
Because, you see, they aren’t the ONLY theme parks in Orlando. Nope, LEGOLAND Florida is also here, and it’s about to get even more exciting. We recently told you about some upgrades at the LEGOLAND Hotel, but now, LEGOLAND has announced a brand new innovative indoor roller coaster coming to both its LEGOLAND Florida and LEGOLAND California parks — and we’ve got ALL the details!
A new indoor roller coaster that is “truly out of this world” is coming to LEGOLAND Florida and LEGOLAND California Resorts which is being described as a “first-of-its-kind new ride.” Merlin Entertainment is making a massive investment of around $90 million for a LEGOLAND expansion that will include this new attraction that “combines the creative world of LEGO building with an exhilarating ride and storyline that only LEGOLAND Parks can deliver for families with children ages 2 to 12.” This will be the biggest investment made in the parks’ history!
“As we prepare to unveil this exciting new attraction designed, co-created and imagined by the amazing creative team at the LEGO Group and the unmatched talent of our Merlin Magic Makers, we hope the mystery and anticipation adds to awesome thrills to come,” said CEO of Merlin Entertainments Fiona Eastwood. “These new coasters are unparalleled for LEGOLAND Resorts, promising to elevate two of our premier LEGOLAND Resorts to new heights, utilizing the latest technology and embracing the LEGO DNA, as only we can do.”
LEGOLAND even shared a construction photo with us — work has already started on the new coaster in Florida! The new coasters are expected to debut in 2026.
The new roller coaster will also be the first roller coaster built in LEGOLAND California in 20 years. Of course, those are the ONLY details we’ve been given about the new coaster so far, except that the ride “will take our guests on an unprecedented adventure, setting a new standard for fun and imagination.”
In the meantime, though, the new SEA LIFE Florida Aquarium will be opening in Orlando on May 23rd.
