8 MAJOR Announcements Disney Just Dropped

Disneyland is celebrating something HUGE this year — its 70th anniversary!

The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration will begin on May 16th, 2025, and will run through summer 2026. The celebration will see the return of some beloved shows and other limited-time entertainment, colorful decor, special food and beverages, exclusive merchandise, and more! We already had some details about this event, but Disney just dropped even more announcements — let’s get into it.

Disneyland just announced a ton of exciting happenings for the 70th anniversary! An all-new “World of Color” show — called “World of Color Happiness!” — inspired by Walt Disney will debut with a “kaleidoscope of emotions” hosted by Joy and other emotions from Inside Out 2.

Not only that, but Boyz II Men will lend their legendary R&B vocals in a rendition of “Rainbow Connection,” and FITZ — from Fitz and the Tantrums — will debut a new original song just for “World of Color” called “Makes Me Wanna Move.” And, more than a dozen of The Muppets will deliver a message ahead of the show.

The fan-favorite Paint the Night parade will return — this time, with Anna and Elsa on the iconic Frozen float!

We also got a sneak peek at Mickey and Friends’ new 70th-anniversary outfits! We had seen Mickey and Minnie’s a while back, but now we’ve got a look at Pluto, Goofy, Clarabelle, Chip ‘n’ Dale, and Donald and Daisy!

A new character cavalcade will also debut, called “The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade!” And, RARE Disney characters Duffy and ShellieMay from Duffy and Friends will be part of the fun!

Throughout Disneyland, expect to see anniversary decor as you make your way around the park, enjoying the celebrations. You won’t want to miss the 50-foot sculpture inspired by Sleeping Beauty Castle “with colorful glass panels and golden charms representing the five original lands.”

Multi-colored banners and vibrant flowers will decorate Main Street, U.S.A., and a medallion will be featured on Sleeping Beauty Castle!

Disneyland is even adding special touches to “it’s a small world” and Toy Story Midway Mania! On “it’s a small world,” Miguel and Dante will join the children in song in the Mexico scene…

And last, but certainly not least — it wouldn’t be a Disney celebration without new merch! There will be apparel and accessories, toys, home decor, and more — including Spirit Jerseys and Lug bags. We can’t wait for this celebration to begin!
