We love Disney’s Animal Kingdom as is on any day of the week, but we especially love it when we find out it’s home to some new adorable residents!
Animal Kingdom Entrance
Animal Kingdom is actively a conservation center for dozens upon dozens of species of animals, from small birds to massive elephants, and every now and then a new animal is born. All eyes have been on Bakso, the new baby tiger you can find on the Maharajah Jungle Trek, but now there’s a NEW family of baby birds you can see too!
Disney has just announced that the new Malayan great argus pheasant chicks have arrived in the aviary on the Maharajah Jungle Trek! These adorable chicks will be following around their mother as they grow, but will soon become independent and set out on their own adventures within the aviary.

A fun detail about this species you may not know is that while female pheasants are responsible for raising the young, the chicks are known for becoming independent very quickly, far earlier than many other species. The Great Argus Pheasant originates from Southeast Asia and is one of the largest pheasant species in the world!
