STOP. Did Disney Just Reinvent Taco Bell's Crunchwrap Supreme?!

It was a dark, cloudy day. After a busy day traversing through Disneyland Resort, we needed a bite to eat. There — just ahead! We found a cozy place for our respite from the gloomy weather. Come with us to Red Rose Taverne for a nice, hearty meal for some weary travelers.

Let’s see what’s new!

During our visit, the restaurant was boasting some new menu items, so naturally, we had to check them out. Are these new dishes worth a try? Let’s find out!

There are some FUN new dinner items at Red Rose Taverne, including three “Folds” (picture a Taco Bell Crunchwrap but with other stuff inside). There’s the Chicken Fantasyland Faire Fold with a Chicken Patty, Hash Browns, Cheese, White Cheese Sauce, and Pickle Aïoli. Then there’s also the Spicy Chicken Fantasyland Faire Fold with a Four-Chile Spice Chicken Patty, Hash Browns, Cheese, White Cheese Sauce, and Pickle Aïoli. We went with the Burger Fantasyland Faire Fold, which is a Flour Tortilla filled with Seasoned Ground Beef, Hash Browns, Cheese, White Cheese Sauce, and Burger Sauce. You can get it for $14.99. Yeah…it’s a little more expensive than a Crunchwrap Supreme, but hey, it’s Disneyland.

Burger Fantasyland Faire Fold

We can sum this one up pretty simply: the Burger Fold tastes like Disney put a cheeseburger burger in a burrito. Sure, it’s a little different than that, but tortilla + ground beef + burger sauce = burger burrito in our heads. The seasoning gave the beef a nice, peppery flavor, but the main flavors we tasted were cheddar cheese and creamy white cheese sauce. The tortilla was toasted, so it had a nice crunch, but the sides of the fold weren’t really toasted as well.

Having both the cheddar cheese AND the white cheese sauce was a little much, almost to the point where it overwhelmed the dish. This was fun to try, but if you’re really craving a good old cheeseburger, you might be better off getting an actual cheeseburger. But, if you feel like experimenting, this was a fun dish that combined two of our favorite things: burgers and burritos.

Time for dessert! We got the Salted Caramel Butter Cake Sundae (Um…YUM!!!), which is topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, Salted Caramel, and Pretzel Sticks. You can get this one for $8.49.

It’s all in the name, people. Salted caramel? We love it. Butter cake? YES! And top it all off with ice cream? We’re sold. All the flavors here worked well, but our only small complaint was that the cake didn’t taste super fresh and warm. Who knows — it’s all about timing! Maybe if we had ordered this earlier, we would have ended up with a freshly-backed cake. Don’t let that deter you, though — this was a sweet and salty sundae with a rich caramel flavor.

What really elevated this dish for us was the pretzel topping. It gave the sundae a nice, salty crunch that paired perfectly with the rich caramel and vanilla flavors. This was nearly a 10/10 dessert. GET THIS TREAT!
