If you’ve been following us here at DisneyFoodBlog for some time, you probably know that we are obsessed with DOLE Whip treats you can get in the Disney parks.
DOLE Whip comes in various forms around Disney World and Disneyland. You can simply get a cup of DOLE Whip soft-serve, DOLE Whip floats, DOLE Whip in drinks, and much more. Its creamy, fruity goodness is hard to top, especially on a hot day in Florida. Normally, a cup of the soft-serve will cost about $6, which isn’t terrible to shell out for this yummy snack. However, there is one place where the cost of some DOLE Whip is about double that amount, but we’re willing to pay it EVERY TIME.
Grabbing a refreshing DOLE Whip at Disney World and Disneyland is not uncommon for many visitors to the parks. But the theme parks aren’t the only Disney locations where you can find this scrumptious treat. It is also offered on the Disney Cruise Line ships! However, in our experience, the DOLE Whip options on the ships aren’t usually the same as in the parks. These options are usually part of cocktails, mocktails, or as more of a smoothie texture, not soft-serve.
LUCKILY, there is one place you CAN find DOLE Whip soft-serve while you’re on your Disney cruise; it’s just not on the ships. If your cruise has a stop at Nassau, Bahamas, you’re in luck. At this port, some cute, colorful shops are located just to the right of the entrance to the port.
And one of these shops happens to sell DOLE Whip, and they have LOTS of flavors, including pomegranate which is a flavor we rarely, if ever, have seen at Disney World!
When we last visited the shop the menu included Pineapple, Orange, Raspberry, Strawberry, Lemon, Lime, Cherry, Watermelon, and Pomegranate flavors. We tried a Mango and Lime combo, which was DELICIOUS!
This treat wasn’t exactly the same as the DOLE Whip at Disney World, as this one was more like a sorbet and not as creamy as in the parks, but it was still an awesome find while on our Disney cruise. However, the only catch is that this cup of DOLE Whip was exceedingly more expensive than a cup of it at the parks. Instead of paying $6, you’re likely going to pay around $12.
It’s not a huge surprise to see the price so much higher on a touristy island destination such as Nassau, so we’re willing to shell out the extra money for a taste of one of our favorite Disney snacks. If you’re going on a Disney cruise soon to Nassau, Bahamas, make sure to keep your eyes out for this little stand serving DOLE Whip!
