Packing for a trip to Disney World can be a pain, especially when it feels like you have tried all the different gadgets that are meant to make your journey easier.
We go to Disney World every day, and our team has become packing pros, so we have learned a thing or two about what works and what does not work when it comes to packing for travel and packing your park day bag. Learn from our mistakes, and don’t fall for these packing must-haves; instead, use these alternatives!
Sometimes, we like to be super prepared for everything, but in reality, it can end up making our suitcases and park bags heavier. Here are six packing alternatives to help make your next trip to Disney World a bit easier!
When traveling, it is always a good idea to stay hydrated throughout your journey, and the same goes for once you arrive at Disney World. While large water bottles are super popular since they hold a lot of liquid, they can be bulky and heavy. Instead, we recommend bringing a DFB reporter tried and true water bottle. Our reporters love their Owala Water Bottles.
Plus, you can fill them up for free around the parks and resorts by getting cups of ice water at quick service locations or by using the My Disney Experience app to locate water bottle refill stations.
When traveling, you will most likely use your phone quite a bit for entertainment, which can drain your phone battery. Sometimes, we find ourselves guilty of packing multiple portable chargers with us, but at the end of the day, this weighs down your luggage. Instead you only really need one portable charger, we like to travel with this INIU Portable Charger because it is lightweight and has multiple charging ports.
Suppose you are worried about your phone battery draining once you arrive at Disney World due to using the My Disney Experience App. In that case, it is a good idea to order a FuelRod ahead of time, as FuelRods can be swapped for free at FuelRod stations throughout the parks and resorts. Plus, FuelRods are small and can fit easily in your park bag!
Speaking of park bags, it can be easy to want to bring a super large park bag to fit everything you might need in one bag, but by the end of the day, your feet and back will be crying from carrying such a heavy load. We like to carry a park bag that will fit our essentials, like this Crossbody Sling Bag! It is lightweight, water-resistant, and comes in a variety of colors!
If you are looking for a classic Disney park bag, then you might want to consider packing a Loungefly backpack like this Disney Stickers Loungfly Backpack! It features the Sensational Six and will fit all your park day essentials.
While a traditional Loungefly backpack typically has minimal pouches, if you are looking to keep your bag a little more organized, we would love to use this Loungefly Bag Organizer; it is a serious game-changer.
If you are worried about needing to bring more with you but don’t want to carry it, you can always rent a locker at all four of the parks! It is great if you also buy souvenirs throughout the day that you don’t want to carry!
It is always a good idea to carry snacks while traveling and in the parks, but sometimes snacks can get smashed, and no one wants to deal with the mess of eating crushed crackers! We like to carry our snacks in a snack container; that way, we do not have to worry about our snacks getting crushed or smashed; plus, this Whiskware Snack Container comes with different compartments, and you can get it in different Disney Princess styles.
We have all gotten creative at some point, trying to get our phones to stand up so we can watch a movie while traveling, and sometimes, we just give up because we can’t get our phones to stay. Don’t let this be you! We like this Tripod Stand to hold our phones while we are traveling as it can bend to hold to different surfaces. Plus, you can attach it to your stroller once you get to the parks at Disney World!
It is no secret that it gets hot and rainy during the summer months in Central Florida. While you can bring big umbrellas with you, they can be hard to pack and hard to carry throughout the parks. Instead, we like to carry this packable UV Umbrella as it is small and protects us from the sun and light rain showers.
Packing for Disney World is a science, and hopefully, these packing tips can help make your trip easier! For more tips and Disney news, make sure to continue to follow along with DisneyFoodBlog!
