A HIGHLY-ANTICIPATED Disney+ series is premiering early!
Over the past 5+ years, Star Wars has had an interesting run on Disney+. Series like The Mandalorian and Andor have been hailed as some of the best stories to ever be told by the franchise, while others like Book of Boba Fett and The Acolyte have met with a much more… mixed response. Classic characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ashoka Tano have been thrust back into the spotlight, while new characters (like Grogu obvi) have taken their place in the franchise’s pantheon. Now, the latest Star Wars series on the platform has gotten a new premiere date!
In late November 2024, Disney announced that the first two episodes of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will be premiering at 6:00PM PST (9:00PM EST) on Monday, December 2nd, one day earlier than its previously scheduled December 3rd date.
Following the double-length premiere, Skeleton Crew will release new episodes at 6:00PM PST/9:00PM EST on Tuesdays through January 14th.
The series, which is considered by many to be targeted at a younger audience than previous live-action Star Wars shows on the platform, follows “the journey of four kids who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home — and meeting unlikely allies and enemies — will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.”
The show stars Jude Law — playing Jude Law Force/rumored Jedi Jod Na Nawood — Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy Smith, Tunde Adebimpe, Kerry Condon, and Nick Frost.
Behind the scenes, episodes of the series are helmed by several veteran Star Wars directors, including Jon Watts, David Lowery, the team of Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Lee Isaac Chung. Watts and Christopher Ford served as the show’s head writers.
Mark your calendars. 🗓️
