The closure of the Orlando International Airport comes ahead of Hurricane Milton, which is expected to make landfall early Thursday morning. Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall on the west coast of Florida and move through the Central Florida area.

The Orlando International Airport is closed for commercial operations with more than 800 flights being canceled on October 9th. While the airport is closed for commercial flights, they are not closed to emergency and relief flights and the airport will remain open as necessary for these operations.
Hurricane Milton is currently a Category 4 storm and is making its way toward the west coast of Florida. The storm is expected to make landfall early Thursday morning. The storm is expected to bring heavy rains, strong winds, flooding, and tornadoes to much of Central Florida.
Attractions around the Orlando area are also closing due to the incoming storm. SeaWorld Orlando will be closed both October 9th and October 10th. Universal’s waterpark Volcano Bay will also be closed on October 9th and October 10th. Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, and Universal CityWalk will be closing at 2PM on October 9th and are expected to remain closed on October 10th.
Disney World will be having a phased closing on October 9th beginning at 1PM. Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will close at 1PM. Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Disney Springs will close at 2PM. The parks are expected to remain closed on October 10th. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party has been canceled for October 10th and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon, Winter Summerland Miniature Golf and Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will be closed on Wednesday, October 9th. Disney’s Blizzard Beach remains closed for planned refurbishment.
