2025 will be here before we know it, and that means it’s time to start planning those Disney World vacations!
Disney World often has reservations for hotels and ticket prices out about a year in advance at any given time, so it’s a great way to help yourself plan ahead for your next vacation. Especially because we haven’t seen prices rise just yet, but we know they’re on the way, so if you book your vacation before those prices rise, you’ll be saving money, in our eyes. Some popular holidays in Disney World can book up fast, so if you’re thinking of visiting on these dates, you’ll want to book ASAP!
New Year’s Day
If you’re thinking of spending New Year’s Day in Disney World, you will 100% want to make those reservations as soon as possible. Not only because it’s a massively popular holiday, but because it’s only a few short months away!
Spending the first day of the new year in Disney World is certainly on a lot of people’s bucket lists, which means that it’ll be filling up quickly, especially since we’re so close. Expect crowds in Disney World to be very high at this time, and your hotel may be more crowded than you may be expecting if you’ve never visited during this time before. This is especially true for value hotels, since they’re the most affordable for many families.
Valentine’s Day
While Valentine’s Day isn’t a wildly popular time in Disney World, hotels can book up quickly. For this, specifically, you’ll want to keep an eye on moderate and deluxe resorts, since many couples (local or coming from afar) may choose to splurge for a night or two.
Disney often has exciting offerings for the holiday as well, so if you’re in the parks to celebrate with your special day, you’ll have some fun additional treats and opportunities to try out.
May the 4th
Star Wars fans often flock to the parks, specifically Disney’s Hollywood Studios, on May the 4th every year since it’s considered Star Wars Day!
Just like with Valentine’s Day, there are lots of special treats that are released around this time that you’ll only be able to grab on the day, or the days surrounding it.
Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day falls in May, which is when some kids are already out of school for the summer, or are about to be, so sometimes families will choose to take their kids out of school for a vacation, or spend the very beginning of their summer vacation celebrating in Disney World!
Now, we will admit that we’ve seen big crowds in recent years, and also seen lower crowds than we were expecting, so it’s really a toss up! However, to be on the safe side, we always recommend booking your vacation sooner rather than later in case it ends up being a very busy holiday weekend.
July 4th and Summer Vacations
If you’re looking to travel to Disney World during the summer, or specifically for 4th of July, you’ll want to make those reservations as soon as possible.
Summer is one of the most popular times to travel to Disney World for families who have kids out of school and teachers who are on their summer vacation as well. We often see wait times rise exponentially during this time and crowds become some of the highest we see all year. This also means that hotels of all tiers are more full than other times of year, so book those rooms!
Labor Day Weekend
September is when summer crowds come to and end, usually, but we often see wait times and crowds tick up again for Labor Day Weekend, which falls in September.
Just like with Memorial Day, we’ve seen crowds fall either way in recent years. But we recommend booking sooner rather than later to ensure you’ve got your vacation all squared away.
Halloween
Halloween bookings are also now open for Disney World, which is a supremely popular time of year thanks to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, the amazing Halloween decorations that can be seen all day in Magic Kingdom, and the special treats and merchandise that arrive in the parks.
We often see heavy crowds the closer we get to Halloween, which means the end of the month is the most crowded. If you’re planning a Halloween vacation for 2025, be sure to book your hotels now so you can get your preferred pick before availability runs out!
