NEW Permit Reveals CHANGES Coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Disney Villains are finally starting to get the limelight they deserve (or demand).

As we’re all likely familiar with by now, an entire land dedicated to Disney’s Villains is coming to Magic Kingdom in Disney World. The land is expected to go in the area deemed Beyond Big Thunder, and according to Disney, “preparations are already underway.” However, we don’t yet know when the new land will be opening. On the other hand, and over in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a new villains show will be debuting, and we just found a new clue!

A new Disney Villains show will be coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studio in summer 2025! The show will feature dozens of Disney’s most infamous villains, including Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent. You’ll be able to see your favorite villain live on stage.

The new show will be replacing Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy at the Sunset Showcase building on Sunset Boulevard. The Cars-themed show will have its last run on October 7th. That end date is REALLY soon, which makes sense as to why we spotted this new clue.

Sunset Showcase

A new permit was filed for the address of the Sunset Showcase building where Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy is currently showing. The permit, filed by Walt Disney World Resort, is for general construction. This could be for a wide variety of work at the building, but it’s likely it’s to start working on the villains show!

The contracting company listed to do the work is Whiting-Turner Contracting Company — WDW, and the permit is good until September 27th, 2025. Since the show is supposed to premiere in the summer of 2025, it’s unlikely the work will last until that date.

We can’t wait to see this stage transformed for the Disney Villains! Fans have been asking for villains-themed entertainment and lands for a long time, so this will be an exciting first step to seeing them showcased around Disney World.
