REVIEW: Disney Didn't Have To Go THIS HARD on This EPCOT Food & Wine Festival Funnel Cake, but We're Glad They Did

The Funnel Cake Stand in EPCOT’s American Adventure might look unassuming, but it’s home to a special Festival-themed funnel cake!

This is one of the of the permanent snack locations that also join in on the festival fun with exclusive, limited-time snacks, and since they’re in EPCOT year-round, you might not know about those special eats! Come with us to check out this year’s Food & Wine Festival Funnel Cake flavor.

Eats

We picked up the Tiramisù Funnel Cake with vanilla ice cream topped with chocolate rum sauce and cream cheese whipped cream and dusted with cocoa and espresso powder for $12.

Alright, yes. $12 is on the higher end of the scale regarding Food and Wine Festival treats. But we’ve got good news. The portion we received was HUGE! This is definitely a sharable snack — it’s a whole lot of sweet, sugary fried goodness for one person to take on themselves.

It melts QUICKLY!

Be warned — although you get a generous portion of ice cream, it melts almost immediately under the hot Florida sun. Personally, we didn’t mind when our ice cream melted. If anything, it made the funnel cake BETTER! We loved the way the ice cream made the funnel cake soft and spongy — it added a bit of moisture to a dry, otherwise crunchy dessert. That said, if you don’t like melted ice cream on your funnel cake, you might want to skip this one.

We would recommend it!

Now, in terms of flavor, we had zero complaints. The tiramisù flavor was rich and decadent — very reminiscent of a coffee cake dessert. The cocoa and espresso powder was (predictably) a little bitter, so try to pick up just a light dusting with each bite. We truly enjoyed this dessert!

OVERALL

This is certainly not the cheapest snack available during the festival, but it is WELL worth a try! From the big portion size to the sweet, smooth flavor of that tiramisù, you can (and should!) grab a friend and enjoy this treat.
