Hellloooo, Hollywood! We love the glitz and glamor of Hollywood. You’ve got gorgeous hotels, some great rock ‘n’ roll shows, and a stunning theater. But speaking of rock ‘n’ roll shows, who wants some backstage passes?

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Now, we’ve been itching to catch an Aerosmith concert at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for MONTHS. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster has been closed since January, and we recently learned that the ride would be opening on July 1st. But thanks to a DFB tip on Instagram, we decided to visit Hollywood Studios EARLY to see what’s rockin’ at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Boy, were we in for a GOOD surprise!
Thanks to @aselinrose on Instagram, we were able to confirm that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster opened EARLY at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Today, June 30th, the ride was in a soft opening trial.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is OPEN!
When we visited around 2PM, the line was only about 20 minutes long. As you can see, it doesn’t look like much was happening outside, but the queue was open!

SURPRISE!
Now, when we say soft opening, we mean it. The ride was NOT listed as open on the My Disney Experience app or on the Disney World website. Unless you happened to walk by and see that the ride was open, this secret soft opening was easy to miss!

The Rock Around the Shop merchandise location at the exit of the ride is open, too! Based on what we noticed, it looks like this shop still sells an assortment of classic Disney World merchandise and a few ride-specific items. (The drumsticks are a CLASSIC Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster souvenir!)

The gift shop is open, too!
We noticed that every other coaster train was running with people in it, so it seems like Cast Members are making sure the ride is ready to go when it officially opens tomorrow, July 1st. Oh, and ride photos were back, too! Hot tip: the camera is on the right side of the track, and the photo is taken as soon as your coaster launches.

Ride photos are working!
We are SO happy to see that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is back up and running — we’ve missed this ride! If you’re planning to ride, expect long lines; this tends to be a popular attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
