Are you planning to visit Disney World this summer?
There are so many new rides and attractions for you to experience all around the resort! From new state-of-the-art rides like TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT, there is so much for you to see and do on your vacation. But we’ve also got to WARN you: certain rides do close temporarily for refurbishment or even reimagining, and one popular attraction will be temporarily closing very soon.
If you want to take flight with Peter Pan and his crew at Magic Kingdom, you must do so before July 8th, as the Peter Pan’s Flight ride will be closed temporarily for refurbishment.
Disney’s website is currently showing that Peter Pan’s Flight will be closed from July 8th through August 20th. It should reopen on August 21st, as that is when opening times once again start to show on the webpage.
It is normal for rides to close for refurbishment to receive a little extra TLC and ensure that everything in the ride is working properly.
As a reminder, Test Track in EPCOT is also closed for the summer as it is being reimagined into a new version of the ride! While no opening date has been announced, we are looking forward to seeing Test Track be inspired by its original predecessor, World of Motion.

While these rides might be closed during a period of the summer, a new attraction will be opening in Magic Kingdom tomorrow! Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will officially open in Magic Kingdom on June 28th! Remember, if you are planning to ride, you must secure a spot using Virtual Queue or Genie+ (soon to be Lightning Lane Multi-Pass).
