NEWS: Following Abrupt Closure, the Moana Attraction Finale Has REOPENED in EPCOT

EPCOT has been getting TONS of attention over the past few years.

The giant transformation it has undergone has been truly amazing. From the new festival areas, CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, to new rides and attractions, EPCOT has seriously been feeling the love from Disney. One of the newest attractions, Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana, just opened in the fall of 2023, but unfortunately, we recently noticed some work being done on it already. Luckily, we have a happy announcement to share with you now!

About a week ago, we were strolling through EPCOT and decided we needed a little water and adventure in our life, so we stopped by Journey of Water– Inspired by Moana to see how things were going for our pal “Water.”

Unfortunately, a section of the walk-through attraction was blocked off by hedges! At that time, you could not play with “Ocean,” the final element of the attraction where you can wave at “Ocean” and it will wave back. It was closed off and not running at the time. A Cast Member had told us that while the reason was not confirmed, they didn’t expect it to be closed for very long.

Luckily, they were right! When we stopped back on May 19th, “Ocean” was back to its usual self, playing with friends! We were so happy to see it working again.

It’s back open!

Journey of Water is a fun AND educational adventure with water. It’s a little walk-through attraction that is beautiful and fun to interact with, while you also learn important facts about the water cycle. You can either take the wet route or the dry route, but we’re pretty sure this will be a popular spot on the upcoming hot summer days! We’re so happy Ocean is ready to play again, just in time for summer.
