REVIEW: This Disney Snack Reminds Us of Taco Bell's Mexican Pizza in the BEST Way

So, we often talk about Disney pizza and how it often disappoints us.

Granted, most of that talk revolves around Disney World, because we have had the occasional good slice over on the West Coast in Disneyland. Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta in Disney California Adventure has always offered a pretty decent slice, but let’s just say that it has plussed up its pizza and given it a Mexican twist — and it’s everything we ever wanted.

If you’ve followed us for a little while, you’ll know that Disneyland Resort is having a huge Pixar Fest celebrating all things Pixar. Right now, you can meet rare Pixar characters in the parks, see a Pixar-themed parade, watch Pixar-themed fireworks, and eat a ton of Pixar-inspired snacks. Well, one of those snacks is the Birria Pizza at Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta.

The Birria Pizza for $9.49 is made with Braised Beef Birria with Mozzarella Cheese Onions & Cilantro, Tomatillo Salsa, Radishes, Limes, and Consomé. We’ll admit we were really excited to try this. We’re also happy to tell you that our excitement was warranted. The braised beef is so tender and full of a rich, savory beef flavor.

Those toppings are everything

There are hints of lime on some bites while others get a slight kick from the salsa. The ingredients here just all work well together to make what is now one of our favorite quick service meals at Disneyland. Yep, it’s THAT good.

Great flavor, great crust

The consomé adds a nice light spice if you dip your slice in it. It also added another layer of flavor to the pizza.

Adds even more flavor

We’ve been big fans of a lot of the birria items in Disneyland and this one is right up there with those, including the Beef Birria Toasted Cheese at Jolly Holiday Bakery and the QuesaBirria Tacos at Cocina Cucamonga. At this point, we just want birria EVERYTHING.
