The upcoming Disney Cruise Line ship promises new dining experiences, and we can’t wait!
The Disney Treasure is scheduled to make its maiden voyage in December of 2024. The ship – which will be the sixth in the Disney Cruise Line’s growing fleet – will serve as the sister ship to the Disney Wish. The two vessels will share some restaurants and menu items with each other, while the Treasure will features some exclusives as well. These are 4 items we can’t wait to eat on the Treasure… plus a bonus!
Pym Doughnut Sundae – Worlds of Marvel
Worlds of Marvel is one of the two rotational dining restaurants that the Disney Treasure will share with the Disney Wish, and will presumably offer the same menu, which means one of our favorite desserts will be available: The Pym Doughnut Sundae. This connection combines dulce de leche ice cream, a pecan Brownie, caramel fudge sauce, and chocolate glazed mini-doughnut, topped with whipped cream and presented in a thematic way to link it to Ant-Man himself. It’s a decadent dessert fit for a cruise vacation.
Authentic Mexican Cuisine – Plaza de Coco
Exclusive to the Treasure, Plaza de Coco is taking the place of Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure as the theatrical dining experience in the restaurant rotation. The meal will be a “music-filled journey, including a dinner featuring modern twists on traditional Mexican fare and a lineup of live entertainment” from Coco’s characters. If i’s sister restaurant’s menu is anything to go by, Plaza de Coco’s menu will feature delicious and authentic foods from the culture represented in the film.
A Zootopia Ice Cream Sundae – Jumbeaux’s Sweets
While the ice cream parlor on the wish is themed to Inside Out, its counterpart on the Treasure will be themed to Zootopia, specifically being reminiscent of the Jumbeaux Cafe seen in the film, including “playful pink interiors, Victorian-style architecture and an endearing sculpture of Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.” We personally can’t wait to have a fully loaded ice cream sundae — with every kind of candy topping you can imagine — while watching the sunset out the venue’s massive windows.
Waffle Snack – Skipper Society
One of the venues we’re most excited about on the Treasure is the Skipper Society themed lounge. Located near the ship’s Great Hall, this Jungle Cruise-themed lounge will feature “natural colorways and camp-style furnishings” that “will pair with sly tributes to the trusty, dry-witted skippers for an elevated, playful atmosphere.” In addition, Disney promises the area will be full of references to the attraction. While not much about the menu has been revealed yet, Disney has confirmed there will be a waffle dish offered that sounds like it will fit in perfectly with the Jungle Cruise Motif.
*BONUS SNACK* Sympathetic Libations Cocktail – Haunted Mansion Parlor
While this final treat isn’t one that we can’t wait to eat, we couldn’t resist including this delicious sounding cocktail off the menu of the Treasure’s highly-anticipated Haunted Mansion Parlor. The lounge will will resemble a “first-class drawing room of a classic cruise liner from the golden age, invoking inspiration from the original Haunted Mansion with a nautical twist” and be filled with references to the attraction’s lore.
The Sympathetic Libations cocktail — its name a reference to a famous line from Madame Leota — will be made up of Agave Blanco, Orange Sec, lime juice, blood orange, and cherry syrup served over ice with a dried orange slice and sour cherry candy spray.
These are just a few of the treats that will be available on the ship. Stay tuned to DFB for more news on the Disney Treasure.
