Have you heard about Disney’s new Jungle Cruise-themed lounge?

Jungle Cruise
The Disney Treasure is one of Disney’s NEW cruise ships, with a maiden voyage scheduled for December 21st, 2024. On board the ship will be several brand-new entertainment and dining options, including a Coco-themed restaurant with characters and a 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea bar. But one of the spots that Disney fans are MOST excited to see is the Jungle Cruise lounge! Now, Disney has announced NEW details about this spot.

Disney previously announced that Skipper Society would debut aboard the Disney Treasure as the FIRST Jungle Cruise-themed bar and lounge on a cruise ship. This punny lounge will be located just off the grand hall aboard the ship.
We already knew that you’ll be able to get drinks and snacks here, which will be served by Cast Members who truly take on the role of Skipper and provide comical entertainment. In the concept art, you can see the low-hanging canvas ceilings, which makes the space feel more intimate.

Disney just shared more details about the creation of this lounge. They noted that the decor is inspired by the Jungle Cruise attractions at both Disney World and Disneyland. From the Disneyland ride, Imagineers gained inspiration from the “flora and fauna sprouting around Jungle Cruise,” which “gives guests the sense that they are sailing in waterways around the globe.” As a nod to this, the Skipper Society will be full of plants that are the same foliage species as those in Disneyland.

Imagineers also took inspiration from the green and red architecture of the Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom. Those colorful tones will be found throughout the lounge, especially depicted on the walls, which are painted “the exact color” to match the Jungle Cruise attraction marquee in Disney World.

Disney said you should pay close attention to the travel stickers on the vintage-style luggage behind the bar — the stickers will represent various locations depicted inside the Jungle Cruise attraction, including that 8th wonder of the world, the Backside of Water!

Another important feature of the lounge is the music. Disney stated that “guests will hear familiar music playing in the venue, including spiels from the Jungle Cruise attractions around the world!” They said, “You’ll hear Skipper voices from across the globe and in various languages such as English, Dutch, French, Cantonese, and more.”

You know how all the Jungle Cruise boats have names, like Congo Connie?

Jungle Cruise
Well, Skipper Society is going to have “a jungle boat name of its own,” according to Disney! The lounge’s boat name is “Ems Empress,” named after the Ems River “where the Disney Treasure will make her first voyage to sea.” You’ll be able to spot the “Ems Empress” sign inside the lounge.

Wow! We can’t WAIT to check out this new lounge. If you’re a fan of the Jungle Cruise attraction, we have a feeling you might already be wanting to book a cruise aboard the Disney Treasure. If that’s the case, booking opens on September 20th, 2023, and if you’re a member of Disney Cruise Line’s Castaway Club, you’ll be able to book as early as September 12th.
