Have you ever wanted to own a real piece of Disney history?
Well, unless you’re lucky enough to work IN a Disney park, you’re probably going to have to spend a little money if you want authentic Disney memorabilia. One way to find this kind of thing is to check out a Disney auction! Speaking of, there’s a NEW Disneyland auction happening soon! You’ll be able to bid on ride props, movie-used props and costumes, original art, and MORE. Wait until you see what’s up for auction — we’re trying to see how much money we can raise (kidding…mostly) because some pretty amazing pieces of Disneyland memorabilia are up for grabs!
Heritage Auctions is hosting “The Art of Disneyland” auction from April 5th through 8th. The sale includes over 1,800 items from the collection of Disney Legends Marc and Alice Davis. This includes some Haunted Mansion items that we really think we need, including a Haunted Mansion “Quicksand” Original Hand-Painted Stretching Room Portrait that was hand-painted at WED Imagineering.
Or you could bid on a Haunted Mansion Hearse just like the one you see outside the mansion. This is an authentic full-size coach manufactured in the 1800s by James Cunningham and Sons. Just add a ghost horse, and you’re all set!
If you have fond memories of Autopia, you might want to grab one of the classic Autopia Vehicle Bodies. These were the ORIGINAL bodies used on Autopia, but have since been replaced to look a little more modern. This is the last version of Autopia, designed by Disney Legend Bob Gurr.
Splash Mountain may be gone to make way for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but it’s not forgotten. You can bid on actual Splash Mountain Thorn and Leaf Props used on the ride! You would’ve seen these props throughout the ride back in the day. These truly are a piece of Disneyland history!
Of course, these items aren’t exactly inexpensive, but if you want to own some real Disneyland history and you have the cash, there are a TON of things to bid on.
