Change is inevitable, especially at the Disney Parks. In fact, Disney just announced a pretty big one in anticipation of a brand-new ride opening later this year!

Critter Country

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is set to open later this year at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom and both parks have been busy making changes to accommodate the new ride. Over at Disneyland, the park has already made adjustments to one land to better fit The Princess and the Frog theming and now it will be closing an entire land to add NEW The Princess and the Frog shops! 

Critter Country at Disneyland is home to a couple of shops and restaurants such as Hungry Bear Restaurant and Harbour Galley, in addition to the ride The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. The land was also home to Splash Mountain and will be home to the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, but it will look very different when the ride finally opens.

Disney just announced that beginning May 1st, 2024, Critter Country WILL BE CLOSED temporarily to make way for two new shops — Ray’s Berets and Louis’ Critter Club! Walt Disney Imagineers also released concept art of the new shops alongside the announcement.

Ray’s Berets will replace The Briar Patch and will offer headwear, apparel, accessories, toys, and more.

Deeper into Critter Country, Louis’ Critter Club will occupy the left-hand side of Pooh Corner and will offer even more apparel, accessories, home décor, and more Princess Tiana-themed merchandise.

Pooh Corner at Disneyland

Fans of Pooh Corner need not fret — the middle and treats side of the shop will remain as is and continue to offer merchandise from Hundred Acre Wood along with its famous sweets!

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at Disneyland

Hungry Bear Restaurant will remain open while the land is refurbished but The Many Adventures of Winnie will be closed. Currently, no changes are planned for the attraction and it is expected to reopen with the land.

A timeline for Critter Country’s reopening is not available at this time nor has a specific date been announced for the grand opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
