It’s OFFICIAL: Baby elephant Corra made her debut on the savanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
We LOVE it when we get to see the debut of new animals at Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. What could make that moment even more special? Well, when they’re born at Animal Kingdom, of course! Over the years, we’ve seen baby gorillas and baby rhinos get introduced to the savanna, and now we OFFICIALLY can say we’ve seen Animal Kingdom’s first second-generation baby elephant get introduced to the savanna, too!
We’ve been waiting since the day Corra was born to finally be able to see her in the savanna — and now we have that chance! She’ll be on the savanna surrounded by her family and, of course, accompanied by her mom, Nadirah!
Corra was the first baby elephant to be born at Animal Kingdom in seven years. Since her birth, she has been taken care of by the animal care team over at the park to ensure she is healthy and bonded with her family before heading out and joining the rest of the herd.
We’re so glad to see that everything worked out well, and two short months later, she is out frolicking on the savanna.
It is so magical to be able to witness the growth of families at Animal Kingdom! We’re so happy for the herd of elephants, Corra’s family, and the animal care teams who helped make this all happen. Without them, Corra — and all of the other animals at the park — would not be getting the top-level care (and love) they deserve. We’re so glad to see that everything has worked out, and we will be going to say hello to baby Corra as soon as we can!
Don’t worry; the baby elephant excitement isn’t over just yet. Disney just announced that we will be seeing not one — but TWO — baby elephants in 2025. We’ll be following the news, so keep checking back in with us at DFB for updates on those babies!
