Disney’s first big milestone of 2024 is coming up!
As one of the largest and most influential companies IN THE WORLD, Disney’s financial and operational status is not only fascinating but bears a significant trickle-down effect. From its influence in the streaming platform space to the financial well-being of the Disney Parks, if you like to stay in the know on all things Disney, you should know about the Walt Disney Company’s first earning report and call of 2024 happening February 7th!
The first report of the year is happening on February 7th, when Disney will discuss its first fiscal quarter results via a live audio webcast at 4:30PM EST. Webcast information can be found here.
Last year, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced four priorities for the Walt Disney Company in 2024: Achieving significant and sustained profitability in our streaming business, building ESPN into the preeminent digital sports platform, improving the output and economics of Disney film studios, and turbocharging growth in the experiences business.
While February 7th is hardly an end-all-be-all success meter for Disney’s 2024 goals, this upcoming first-quarter report will give significant insight into the trends we could expect to see as the year progresses.
Another thing we can expect to learn about aside from financial status is Disney Parks and entertainment announcements! Rumors have been swirling about a re-theme around Encanto and Indiana Jones in DinoLand, U.S.A. in Disney’s Animal Kingdom and it’s possible a timeline or more information could drop during the report.
Diney+ usually takes a lot of attention during these reports and we expect February 7th’s earnings call to be no different. One thing we have circled is a possible deep dive into the Disney+/Hulu bundle that began its beta in began its beta December. The bundle officially goes live in March and we could hear more about that in conjunction with Disney+’s 2024 profits projection.
Regarding the parks, we are hoping to hear more updates on possible expansion plans as well as any attraction updates, such as a Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening timeline. While none of those are a given, we do usually see Disney film timeline updates during these earning reports!
More information about the earnings call and all Disney investor relation reports can be found here. We’ll also be covering the report and call as well as everything Disney, so be sure to stay tuned right here at DFB for all the latest news!
