Back in 2023, Disney announced that the Cabins at Fort Wilderness would be getting a makeover!
Imagineers are redesigning these spaces to become the Disney Vacation Club Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort. So far we’ve had a look at the concept art for the new cabins, and we learned just when they would open. If you’re a Disney Vacation Club member looking to make the Cabins at Fort Wilderness your home resort, we have excellent news to share!
Disney Vacation Club sales for The Cabins are officially open as of February 1st, 2024 for existing members!
You can add on The Cabins by contacting your DVC Guide or by contacting Member Sales at (800)-800-9800. DVC members who have added on points at The Cabins can begin to book sales online on February 15th, 2024.
The general public will have access to the sales on February 27th, and new DVC members whose home resort is The Cabins can begin booking online or with Member Services on March 12th. After April 23rd, all members can begin booking stays!
The Cabins at Fort Wilderness are set to open on July 1st, 2024, and will sleep up to six adults and feature a bedroom, bathroom, living room, full kitchen, and private patio. A select number of cabins will also be dog-friendly.
The updated floor plan shows a single bedroom off to the left and a bathroom off to the right. In the center, guests have a kitchen, dining area, and sofa that folds down into a bed. If you’ve ever heard of a “shipping container home,” these designs feel very similar to those homes.
The proposal for this makeover calls for more than 350 refreshed cabins to replace the current structures at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Disney stated that these new cabins will be “inspired by the resort’s idyllic setting, while also paying homage to the resort’s unique culture and heritage through the magic of Disney storytelling.” The original concept art that we saw back in April featured the exterior of modern-looking cabins.
If you’re a DVC member, you might want to hurry to purchase as these cabins could sell out! Stay tuned to DFB for the latest news and updates about the Cabins at Fort Wilderness and more from Disney World!
