Yes, some people live in Disney World.
No, we’re not talking about Annual Passholders who visit the parks multiple days a week (like we do) or even Disney Vacation Club members who choose a Disney hotel as their home resort. We’re talking about Golden Oak, Disney’s literal neighborhood! However, there are a lot of lies about this neighborhood that we need to clear up!
If You Live in Golden Oak, You Get Club 33 Access
Unfortunately, this is a complete lie. Club 33 is Disney’s most exclusive club, and there’s a dining room location in every single park.
It was designed as a spot for Walt Disney to entertain personal guests and VIPs in the park, though he passed away before he could use it for its intended purpose. Those who live in Golden Oak do not get access to Club 33. Those who want to be a Club 33 guest must either be related to a Club 33 member, be invited to dine by a Club 33 member, or join a yearslong waitlist, pay to join and pay annual dues.
You Get Free Disney Park Tickets
This is another lie, unfortunately — Golden Oak residents do not get free tickets to any Disney parks.
They do get access to concierge service, which can help them book Disney vacations, VIP Tours, and things of that nature, but they pay for their tickets just like everyone else.
It’s One Neighborhood
Surprise! This is another lie — Golden Oak isn’t just one neighborhood, it’s actually 8!
Homes in these different neighborhoods all look different and are priced different. Their names are:
- Carolwood
- Kimball Trace
- Kingswell
- Marceline
- Silverbrook
- Symphony Grove
- The Cottages at Symphony Grove
- Four Seasons Private Residences Orlando
It’s Where Disney Icons Live
Now, you may think that living on Disney World property means that it’s reserved for Disney icons, but that’s not the truth!
The truth is that ANYONE can live here, just like most neighborhoods in the world. If you’re able to afford the price (we’ll get into that in a second), you can live here!
It’s Affordable
Pardon us, we’re laughing here a little.
Now, you may not expect it to be cheap to live on Disney World property, and, well, it’s not. Houses here START at $2 million…yes, we said START. We dream of a time when living in Disney World would be affordable for us!
It’s Not THAT Close to Disney World
Disney World spans nearly 43 square miles, and not all of it has been used. So Golden Oak really can’t be that close to the Disney World parks, right?
Well, it depends which park you’re talking about, but Golden Oak as a whole is located only 4 miles away from Magic Kingdom!
Golden Oak is a part of Disney World many of us will never see, but hey, if you or someone you know gets to see or LIVE in one of these mansions, please let us come over for a visit, okay? We promise we’ll take our shoes off before we come inside.
