So we all have streaming devices now, right?
Whether it’s a smart TV or something like Google Chromecast or a Roku device, we probably all have a thing that allows us to watch all our favorite shows on Hulu, Disney+, and other streaming services. Well, for a while, you couldn’t GET Disney+ on Roku, which is why it’s interesting that Roku just teased something that might be a collaboration with Disney. Say what?!
Okay, those with a Roku have probably seen the fun screensaver, a.k.a. Roku City, that scrolls by when you’re not watching anything. The graphic also often teases things available to stream (we’ve even seen a TARDIS on there, as in Doctor Who). Well, something NEW might be coming soon. Roku posted a screenshot of what might be a new version of the screensaver with the caption, “Something magical is coming to Roku City…”.

This screenshot also included a “Pardon Our Pixie Dust” sign, which Disney fans have seen ALL over Disney Parks when areas are under construction. Even more interesting is that Roku tagged the official Walt Disney World account on that little sign. THEN, the official Walt Disney World account commented, “Pardon our pixie dust. ✨” So what is going on here?
This seems to be a tease that there will be a collaboration between Roku and Disney World soon, although that’s all Roku is willing to reveal for now. For all we know, it means that we’ll see something cute in Roku City representing Disney World. Disney has previously offered themes for Roku devices, so it could be something like that, but until the two companies share more, we just don’t know! Any guesses?
We’ll be keeping an eye out for more details, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
