6 Super WEIRD Menu Items at McDonald's NEW Spin-Off Restaurant

Earlier this year, we told you about a NEW kind of McDonald’s restaurant on the way, CosMc’s.

CosMc’s is a “small format concept with all the DNA of McDonald’s but its own unique personality.” Well, the first CosMc’s has arrived in Illinois (with more locations on the way soon), and we recently got a sneak peek at the menu. The drinks-heavy menu certainly fulfills the “unique personality” concept, so let’s take a look at the unique items you’ll be able to order there.

As we mentioned, the menu features a LOT of interesting drinks, but one that got our eye under “Signature Galactic Boosts” is the Sour Cherry Energy Boost. This is a Tart cherry slush blended over fruity popping boba with a boost of energy. Yep, McDonald’s has jumped into the energy drink game and added boba.

Looking for a different kind of coffee? Well, there’s the Turmeric Spice Latte, made with fresh espresso and milk and topped with turmeric-flavored syrup with foam and black pepper sprinkles. So it’s basically a savory coffee, and we’re not quite sure how we feel about that.

Okay, it’s no secret that we LOVE churros, so the Churro Frappe certainly has our attention. This one actually sounds delicious: it’s a sweetened blended cold brew finished with whipped cream and topped with cinnamon sprinkles. So maybe not so weird as unique — and potentially tasty.

You can also get a Popping Pear Slush, which is a prickly pear-flavored slush finished with whipped cream and topped with popping candy. Popping candy…okay, that’s certainly different. The idea of the pear flavor does sound good, though. We also love the pink color of it — it’s giving us Barbie vibes.

You can also get food at CosMc’s, including some standard McDonald’s items (but NOT french fries), as well as Pretzel Bites and Hash Brown Bites. But we’re intrigued by the Blueberry Lemon Cookie Sundae, made with Vanilla Soft-Serve, Mixed Berry Sauce, and a Lemon-Blueberry Cookie. These are two flavors that go together but are certainly different from McDonald’s typical sundaes (some of which are also available).

Finally, CosMc’s is introducing something called McPops. There’s no real description of these, but they look like pastries with fillings. A total of three flavors are available: Cookie Butter, Apple Cinnamon, and Hazelnut. You can order just one flavor or get a mixed bag of all three. They LOOK good, though!
