The Disney World gingerbread displays have been getting built over the last several weeks!
Disney’s Grand Floridian, Beach Club, Yacht Club, Contemporary, and BoardWalk Inn have all had their gingerbread sculptures completed and open for business! You know we have to try the snacks all over Disney World so of course when we stopped by to visit the gingerbread BoardWalk Deli, we grabbed a couple of sweet treats.
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn brought out their show-stopping gingerbread deli again this year. It’s full of amazing details that we can’t believe the chefs actually made so incredibly realistic. Not only does this display have the tiniest rolls you’ll ever see but it also boasts over 100 hidden Mickey’s!
While you probably shouldn’t eat the display (though it looks good enough to!), you can grab a couple of specialty treats from this location. We grabbed two on our recent visit– the Christmas Vintage Cookies and the Mickey Caramel Corn Cookie.
Let’s start with the Vintage Mickey and Minnie Christmas Cookies! These are $4.79 each and are sugar cookies with vintage Mickey and Minnie printed on icing.
These are crumbly sugar cookies that we think would pair very nicely with coffee or tea. They’re a lot of plain sugar cookie, so if that’s your go-to cookie then you would probably really enjoy these! The icing seemed to mostly be there for decor as it didn’t really add much flavor. But it did give a bit of softness to the cookie.
The Mickey Caramel Corn Cookie is a gingerbread cookie with red and white fondant stripes and caramel corn on top. This cookie is $6.49.
The gingerbread and caramel corn went together so well on this cookie. We loved it! The cookie was so soft and chewy with a bold spiced gingerbread flavor. If you’re not a fan of fondant then that may turn you off from this cookie. It has a lot of it. We even found that taking the fondant off just to enjoy the delicious cookie below was a challenge. While the fondant looks nice, it wasn’t our favorite. But the icing underneath seemed to be like chocolate which was tasty with the cookie.
Overall, we enjoyed these cookies, but there would be a couple of things we would change about them if we could. The gingerbread cookie itself was fantastic. Don’t forget to take a stop at the BoardWalk and other resorts to check out these gingerbread displays!
