For many, part of the Disney World experience is indulging in all of the food that the resort has to offer.
Disney World’s dining options range from quick service meals that you can grab and eat as you’re walking around the parks, to table service meals that allow you to recoup as you take in all the sights, smells, and flavors that make up the restaurants. While most of the restaurants at Disney World will allow you to show up in your theme park attire, there are a few restaurants on property — Disney Signature Restaurants — that have a dress code. This means you won’t be able to stroll right in and dine in your Chacos and track shorts and might have to do a little extra planning. We get questions seemingly every day about whether or not certain Disney World restaurants have a dress code, and we are here to answer those questions! Today’s dress code post takes us under the seas.
Coral Reef Restaurant is located in EPCOT’s World Nature at Disney World. This restaurant doubles as an aquarium, and allows you to dine among more than 2,000 sea creatures that make up the coral reef.
The restaurant is made up of standard tables and chairs, and allow you to eat in a dimly lit area so that you can clearly see the fish friends that reside in the coral reef aquarium. It’s definitely a step above quick service, and does require an advanced dining reservation. You can eat lunch or dinner here, which each range from $15 to $34.99 per adult.
The good news? You can wear your theme park attire! The vibes here are totally casual, and as long as you’re not rocking a bathing suit, you’ll be fine. (Which wouldn’t happen anyway, because they wouldn’t even let you into the park if you were wearing a bathing suit.)
Disney includes this list on what would be considered “inappropriate”:
Inappropriate Attire
Disney reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests. Attire that is not appropriate for the parks—and which may result in refusal of admittance—includes but is not limited to:
- Costumes and costume masks, which may not be worn by Guests 14 years of age or older.
- Exceptions:
- Specific Halloween and Christmas events.
- Some outfits inspired by Star Wars. Learn more
- Exceptions:
- Clothing with objectionable material, including obscene language or graphics
- Excessively torn clothing
- Clothing which, by nature, exposes excessive portions of the skin that may be viewed as inappropriate for a family environment
- Clothing that touches or drags on the ground
- Clothing with multiple layers is subject to search upon entry
- Objectionable tattoos
The same rules apply for the restaurants that DO count as Signature Dining locations, as long as they’re located within the theme parks. So, as long as you’re dining in the parks, you can wear your theme park attire. The only exceptions are restaurants like Monsieur Paul (France Pavilion in EPCOT), and Takumi-Tei (Japan Pavilion in EPCOT). These do have a dress code, so keep that in mind if you plan on visiting those!
