We might not be ready to face it, but the holidays are closing in.
We’re getting ready to see Santa, fake snow falling on Main Street U.S.A., and all the beautiful lights that tell us Christmas is on its way in Disney World. Many of us have started planning our holiday trips. The first step in those holiday plans is usually to book your flights, and now we’ve learned that step should be done by a very important, specific date!
If you’re traveling for the holidays (whether you’re visiting family or friends or going on a Disney World trip), you might be planning on flying there. Finding flights can be challenging but it’s generally the first thing we do when planning our vacations. What can be even more challenging is finding flights that don’t break the bank.

Airplane
But did you know there’s a deadline for booking flights for the holidays? Well, not really… but if you want the cheapest flights, then Hopper suggests booking your holiday flights by October 14th!

American Airlines Plane
According to Hopper, “Airfare will remain low, but volatile (moving up and down day to day) through early October, before rising in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving and Christmas. Over the next few weeks while prices are volatile, travelers who are proactively monitoring prices could get notified of great, time-sensitive deals.”

So hurry and get your flights SOON, because the 14th is coming up fast!
Hopper also noted that airfare prices for Thanksgiving trips are down 14% from last year and down 7% from 2019. Thanksgiving flights are averaging $268 per ticket.

Orlando International Airport
For Christmas trips, flights are averaging about $400 per ticket right now. That’s down 12% from this time last year but quite a bit higher than this time in 2019 (up about 29%).
