Out with the old and in with the new seems to be Disney World’s motto these days.

A new meet and greet has officially arrived in Magic Kingdom, but that means we had to say goodbye to one of our favorites. After learning that a Mirabel meet and greet would be replacing the Merida one at Fairytale Gardens, we were left wondering what might happen to our girl Merida — and today, we happened to find her in an unexpected spot!
You’ll never guess who we spotted watching the Festival of Fantasy Parade today — it was Merida! We caught her waving to a fellow red-headed princess, Ariel! Merida was roaming around Fantasyland and told us she occasionally heads this way to check out the parade when she can.
It’s MERIDA!
Ariel saw that Merida was waving, so of course, she gave her fellow princess a shoutout too! After she said hi to Ariel, Merida made her way through the crowd, saying hi to other guests and interacting with kiddos.

From what Cast Members told us, Merida “watches the parade and then strolls through Fantasyland” when she gets the chance but this isn’t an official meet and greet or character interaction. Merida just likes to roam around on her way too and from her meet and greet!
