Live-Action Ariel Meet-And-Greet
Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid stole the hearts of theater audiences on May 26th, 2023, and arrived to Disney+ on September 6th, 2023. Since then, Disney fans have FLOCKED to their televisions to see the film — so many, in fact, that the movie has broken a Disney+ record.
The Walt Disney Company shared on September 11th that in the first five days of its streaming, The Little Mermaid broke records on Disney+ with over 16 million views. The film is one of the most viewed Disney movie premieres EVER on Disney+!
‘The Little Mermaid’
This is the first movie premiere on Disney+ since the release of Hocus Pocus 2, and follows a “strong theatrical run” over the summer, according to Disney. It opened over Memorial Day weekend in North America and grossed nearly $300 million over the remainder of the summer.

Not only was the movie popular over the summer, but it remains one of the top ten films worldwide in 2023 as a whole. It was praised by audiences and critics alike, earning an “A” Cinema Score and 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.
