Disney World snacks are often unmatched — and trust us, we’ve pretty much tried them all.
And while you’ve probably heard about some of the most iconic eats at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, we happen to think Animal Kingdom is severely underrated when it comes to snacks. We love snagging the newest eats and treats, but sometimes you just crave an old standby — so come with us to see if one, in particular, still holds up!
We’re heading over to Animal Kingdom’s Asia section of the park to visit the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck! This small little spot serves up sweet treats and soft serve out of an old truck, and it really hits the spot on a hot summer day. We stopped by to grab an oldie but a goodie — the Yeti Sundae.
For $6.29, you get chocolate soft serve topped with vanilla soft serve, blue cake crumbs, sugar, sweet snowflakes, and a “chocolate yeti image.” We had this back when it made its park debut, so how does it hold up now?
First things first, let’s just talk about how stunning this thing is — that blue really stands out against all the green in Animal Kingdom. It’s reminiscent of the snow-capped peak of Mount Everest. But overall — this treat is kinda basic. It’s chocolate and vanilla ice cream when you really get down to it, which is rather boring compared to other Disney World snacks.
We did really enjoy the blue cake crumbs, though, as they sort of upgraded the plain ol’ soft serve. They added a cakey texture that became crunchy when combined with the sprinkles and sugar. It was pretty refreshing on the hot summer afternoon we had it! It’s also a pretty easy snack to eat while you walk to your next destination. The chocolate yeti didn’t really add much to the snack overall, but it was perfect for the vibes. Give this one a try if you’re looking for something simple but delicious.
