A Popular Disney World Ride Is Now Temporarily CLOSED

If you’re heading to Magic Kingdom over the next couple of days, you might want to sit down.

An iconic Disney World ride is officially closed — but don’t worry too much, because it won’t be down for long. That doesn’t mean it won’t potentially impact your trip, though, and we’ve got all the details on what might be happening during the closure.

Bad news, friends, Haunted Mansion is officially closed in Disney World! It was previously announced that this ride would undergo a brief refurbishment at the beginning of August, and that time has finally come. Haunted Mansion will stay closed from August 7th to 9th.

Disney noted that this closure is for “routine refurbishment.” But, we also know that the Hatbox Ghost is supposed to be coming to the Haunted Mansion sometime in 2023. While Disney hasn’t mentioned anything specifically about this closure involving the Hatbox Ghost, it is interesting timing.

Not only that, but we spotted what looked like some sort of curtain or obstruction in the Endless Hallway part of the ride — which is where Disney had previously shared the Hatbox Ghost would be installed in the ride. So, it’s quite possible that we could see a new, familiar (and disembodied) face in the Haunted Mansion sometime soon!
