It’s officially spooky season around Disney World and we’re feeling the thrills!
Halloween treats have been popping up, ghoulish merchandise has materialized, and we’re getting ready for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. Disney had previously announced that a terrifying new addition would be coming to the Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom, and we can’t help but think it’s coming soon!
Something is different at the Haunted Mansion — it looks like a curtain or some other obstruction has popped up near the Endless Hallway, which is very curious indeed. Why so curious, you ask?
Well, Disney has shared that sometime this year, the Hatbox Ghost will pop up in the Haunted Mansion, specifically as guests pass the Endless Hallway.
Okay, bear with us, because y’all — the Haunted Mansion is DARK, okay? It’s a Haunted Mansion. And it’s a Disney World dark ride. So, you can’t really see much in these terribly lit photos. BUT just trust us, because there was SOMETHING in the way.
Disney notes, “The Hatbox Ghost will appear to guests as they pass the Endless Hallway, welcoming himself inside from the swinging wake in the cemetery and grinning at the Doom Buggies as they set off deeper in.” Not only that, but Disney said that we would see “temporary barriers materialize” as we wait for the Hatbox Ghost to arrive.
While we don’t know for sure that the Hatbox Ghost is hiding behind (what we think is) a curtain, you can bet we’ll be keeping up with any more changes and will let you know when he finally materializes — so stay tuned to DFB for more!
