Quite a few things are getting UPDATES in Disney World right now!
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is getting refurbished from top to bottom, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is getting a new DVC tower, and Splash Mountain was closed at the beginning of this year to become Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom. But soon, one refurbished restaurant will be reopening!
Crockett’s Tavern closed a little while back at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground to get some updates, along with Trail’s End Restaurant. We now know that both of these spots will be reopening to the public on July 27th.
Disney previously shared that Trail’s End Restaurant would be returning as a market-style quick service spot, but what about Crockett’s Tavern — what’s different there? Well, now we’ve got the details!
Crockett’s Tavern has been refreshed as a lounge with expanded seating, both indoors and outdoors. And with this expanded seating, you’ll be able to get a great view of Bay Lake! The inside of the restaurant has new seating, wooden beams in the ceilings, and lots of rustic accents.
On the menu side of things, Disney shared that there are “elevated lounge-style snacks to accompany the array of new and returning beverages and specialty cocktails.” There will still be a to-go window for drinks, which is perfect for those wanting to enjoy a libation while waiting for Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue.
The first new item on the menu is A Trio of Sliders — a pulled pork slider with BBQ sauce and coleslaw, brisket slider with Carolina BBQ and pickled onions, and a buffalo chicken slider with house-made blue cheese dressing and dill pickles. These are served alongside seasoned french fries for $16.
Chicken Bites have also been added to the menu, and they’re served with your choice of sauce including buffalo, garlic-parmesan, or blueberry BBQ for $15. They also come with celery, house-made ranch, blue cheese, and seasoned french fries. Besides the chicken and sliders, you can also order a traditional lounge item — a charcuterie board. According to Disney, it “features a selection of meats and cheeses with house-made bread and butter pickles, tomato jam, cornbread crostini, and sesame lavash” for $21.
There are also some plant-based items on the menu. You can try the Crispy Cauliflower paired with a tasty garlic aïoli for $9 (which comes from the Hoop-Dee-Doo menu!) or the plant-based fried green tomato sliders featuring a southern remoulade and citrus greens for $14.
And of course, we can’t forget about dessert! The Trailblazin’ Dessert Trio has a s’more with chocolate pudding, graham cracker crumbs, and house-made marshmallow, a strawberry shortcake with strawberries and whipped cream, and a banana pudding with vanilla wafers, whipped cream, and a banana chip. Sounds delicious! You can get this treat for $12.
There are plenty of beverage options to choose from to accompany your meal as well. Inspired by the Fort Wilderness Railroad that once ran throughout the resort, the All Aboard! Moonshine Cocktail Flight is a sampling of moonshine cocktails featuring the Gullywhumper, Blackberry Lightning, and Spiced Appleberry Shine for $17.
And for other specialty drinks, check out the following:
- Bear-y Buckle for $16.50 — combines Uncle Nearest 1884 Small Batch Whiskey, pure cane sugar, lemon juice, bitters, Fever-Tree Ginger Beer, and muddled blackberries
- Camper’s Coupe for $14.50 — features Laird’s Applejack Brandy, orange and lemon juices, and a hint of maple syrup
- Meadows Cup for $15.50 — twist on a classic cocktail with Pimm’s No. 1 Liqueur Cup, Hendrick’s Gin, Minute Maid Premium Lemonade, and strawberry
- Clementine Old Fashioned — Angel’s Envy Bourbon, Hella Cocktail Co. Orange Bitters, and cane syrup garnished with a clementine wheel and Luxardo cherry
- Quail Trail Paloma for $15.50 — Teremana Blanco Tequila with Hella Cocktail Co. Smoked Chili Bitters, grapefruit soda, and a chili-lime rim
- Moonshine Margarita for $15.50 — Ole Smoky White Lightnin’ Moonshine, Triple Sec Liqueur, sweet-and-sour mix, and lime juice
We can’t wait to head to Crockett’s Tavern in a few days and check out this selection! Will this be a new must-visit lounge? We’ll have to wait and see!
