ONE DAY ONLY: You Can Get FREE McDonald’s French Fries TODAY

There’s a holiday you’re probably not celebrating, but you totally should be!

Nope, we’re not talking about Christmas or Halloween or even the 4th of July — we’re talking about a major FOOD holiday. Today is National French Fry Day, and there are some really delicious ways that you can celebrate with freebies!

Several national chains and brands are celebrating the yummy holiday, according to USA Today. McDonald’s is offering free fries of any size for one day only — July 13th. You can pick up these fries by logging into the McDonald’s app. No purchase is necessary, but there’s a limit of one per person.

Also on July 13th, Smashburger will be offering free fries with any purchase, White Castle is sharing a coupon for a buy-one-get-one-free small fry, and Wendy’s is giving an order of free fries of any size with any in-app purchase through the 16th. If you’re planning on staying in, you can also score savings on your meals thanks to a collaboration with Heinz and Uber Eats. On July 13, Heinz is teaming up with Uber Eats to offer $5.70 off orders that include french fries, because “fries aren’t fries without Heinz.”

And finally, we’ve got Checkers & Rally’s! Fun fact — last year these drive-thru brands actually petitioned to have National French Fry Day moved from July 13th to the second Friday of July. Their request was granted by the National Day Calendar, so the holiday actually falls on Friday, July 14th. (Even though the other restaurants didn’t seem to get the memo!) To commemorate the occasion, Checkers & Rally’s will be offering a free order of XL Fries July 14th-16th for all Checkers Reward App members.

So there you have it — the actual holiday is on Friday, July 14th (we’re much happier with it being on a Friday because, ya know, “FRY day”), but you can celebrate starting Thursday, July 13th. We can’t wait to get some free fries!
