We like to stop at quick service dining locations in the park and grab some free ice water to dunk the towels in. This helps ensure that they’re extra cold, instead of using the room-temperature water in the bathrooms or from the fountains.

When it comes to choosing a cooling towel, you really can’t go wrong. The ones you can grab from merchandise locations in the parks and hotels work just fine, but they’re not always in stock. If you do plan on using a cooling towel, just make sure to wring out the water and swing the towel around before each use. This allows the towel to do its job without soaking you with water. Oh, and try to let it dry out as much as you can without rewetting it — and definitely don’t store it while wet. This will ensure that it doesn’t get a bad mildew smell.
