A Japanese brand recently set a world record for the most expensive ice cream!

What can we say, we LOVE a good ice cream treat! We’re constantly sampling different ice creams around Disney World, from the ultra-unique flavors at Salt & Straw in Disney Springs to the gigantic concoctions at Beaches & Cream. But even the most outrageous ice cream creations in Disney World have nothing on the price tag of the world’s most expensive ice cream!

If you thought the $36 price tag on the massive Kitchen Sink Sundae at Beaches & Cream was a budget buster, then hang on to your wallets!

Okay, now that everyone has braced themselves, here we go — the Japanese brand Cellato recently broke the Guinness World Record for the most expensive ice cream with a dessert that costs nearly 873,400 yen or $6,696!

The ice cream is named byakuya — “white night” in Japanese — and it’s made with rare white truffles, edible gold leaves, and natural cheeses. The company describes the super pricy dessert as “rich in taste and texture,” and they recommend pairing it with sake or a glass of French white wine. Now that’s one fancy ice cream!
