Last night was the equivalent of Super Bowl Sunday for those of us who enjoy admiring all things luxury fashion and the celebrity elite.
The Met Gala is observed by millions around the world as celebrities from an impressive range of industries meet for one night — dressed to the nines in ensembles created by world-renowned designers and artists — all according to a pre-determined theme. This year’s theme was “In Honor of Karl” — a tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld, a German designer known for the pieces he created for numerous luxury brands, like Chanel.
While some looks honored the work of the late designer in a classic and elegant manner, others honed in on Lagerfeld’s more eccentric side, sporting zany looks that only the elite could pull off. (Well… whether or not they actually pulled it off is another kind of controversy and we’ll let YOU be the judge of that.)
Regardless, we thought it would be fun to cast some of the celebrities and their Met Gala looks as Disney characters. Grab your cameras, because we’re headed to the Met Gala.
First up, we have Jared Leto, who we’ve cast as Marie from Aristocats. Leto donned a look that resembled Lagerfeld’s beloved cat Choupette.
Next, we’ve cast Anne Hathaway as Fru Fru from Zootopia. Come on, even the hairstyle is spot-on.
We cast Camilla Farone as none other than Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Keke Palmer was really giving us Fairy Godmother vibes in that gown!
Ashley Graham? The resemblance to Madame Upanova is UNCANNY.
It was impossible to cast Doja Cat as any character other than Duchess from Aristocats.
Pedro Pascal showed up in a bright red number and reminded us that he is the Queen (King) of our Hearts.
