Disney says it’s a story that’s been a century in the making.

Disney’s new animated movie, Wish, is set to debut in theaters in November 2023, and Disney fans are already excited to watch the story surrounding the idea of wishing on a star. Now, we’ve finally got the TRAILER for this upcoming film!
The film follows the story of Asha, a 17-year-old girl, and her goat Valentino. The two live in Rosas, the kingdom of wishes, where wishes can literally come true. However, the plot thickens when Asha gets more than she bargained for and a wishing star comes down from the sky to join Asha and Valentino. This is apparently the origin story behind Disney’s very own wishing star — you know, the one that soars over the castle at the opening of every Disney film?
Disney released the first official trailer AND poster for Wish today, and we got some highly-anticipated details regarding the film and what we can expect. Watch the trailer here:
The poster seems to reflect the branding of the 100th Anniversary celebration with the blue, purple, and gold color scheme. Check it out!

We already know that Asha will be played by Ariana DeBose, who has appeared in the film adaptations of Hamilton and West Side Story. No Disney movie is complete without a villain, right? Well, Wish‘s villain will be played by none other than Chris Pine.
